Sydney Sweeney is the ‘woman of the hour’ today and not because of her gorgeous photoshoot by Elizaveta Porodina [IG] in the September 2025 issue of WSJ Magazine [IG].
She’s not the ‘woman of the hour’ because of a led-by-the-right to bait-the-left manufactured controversy over her recent American Eagle ads.
We don’t know yet if Charlie Kirk’s killer, now-in-custody Tyler Robinson, 22, took him out over the Sydney Sweeney American Eagle manufactured-by-the-right controversy. His laundry list of hate will be revealed in the coming days.
The reason Sydney Sweeney is loud and proud today is because her November 2025 release ‘Christy’ movie trailer dropped hours ago, and it’s a blockbuster.

The New LuxExperience Platform
Last week the Munich-based, German e-tailer Mytheresa said that about 700 employees might be impacted as the profitable e-tailer integrates Yoox-Net-a-Porter [YNAP] into the new company LuxExperience.
The acquisition positions the new luxury brands internet platform to become the largest player in luxury e-commerce. Swiss luxury conglomerate Richemont, YNAP’s previous owner, is footing the bill by recapitalising YNAP with €555 million in exchange for a 33 percent stake in Mytheresa, and an additional €100 million six-year revolving credit facility.

Chloe Malle, named the new Head of Editorial Content at Vogue US, is on the interview. The dialogue is heavier than spun sugar on a stick at the state fair — almost folksy — but definitely apolitical, no comentary about the world writ large. Just two longtime, down-home friends having a scat style, verbal bubblebath. And Chloe Malle writes it all down in short, crisp sentences.

The Original Mille Miglia [1927-1957]
The Race: This was a dangerous, high-speed endurance race held on public roads in Italy. The figure-eight shaped course ran from Brescia to Rome and back, covering about 1,000 miles. The race was banned in 1957 following a horrific crash that killed driver Alfonso de Portago, his navigator, and nine spectators.
Legacy: The original race was known for making famous marques like Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, and Mercedes-Benz, with legendary drivers like Stirling Moss competing.
In 1977, the Modern 1000 Miglia was reborn. See the details in AOC Fashion.

Vogue Czech Honors Freyja
The Nordic goddess Freyja was on my mind this spring, when I wrote about the ancient history of women in Scotland, connected to a post about the Dior Cruise 2025 collection ‘Highland Fling’ featuring Debra Shaw.
The Nordic mythology around Freyja is just one more example of belief systems in our pre-monotheism world. While we’re not ‘going there’ today, what is called Ancestral Odinism is being co-opted by right-wingers seeking an alternative to Christian nationalism.
End of summer 2025, Anine Bing [IG] herself rolled out the campaign for her new Anine Bag. In pursuing her lifelong love of frame bags, the Los-Angeles-based Danish designer tapped photographer Chris Colls [IG] and stylist Sarah Gore Reeves to make her frame bag campaign one to remember. / Makeup by Rachel Goodwin; hair by Claire Grech
Framed like a vintage clutch but bold enough for this exact moment, the bag comes with a manifesto. “This bag is more than an accessory—it’s a reflection of the woman who carries it,” Bing said in the campaign’s accompanying message. “Confident. Intentional. In her power.”
