Sydney Sweeney From Bloody Nun to Barbarella by David Roemer for Bazaar Spain
/Actor Sydney Sweeney covers the April 2024 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Spain, an issue paying special attention to crafts, workshops and trades that combine tradition and innovation.

Sweeney woke up one day on nun TikTok, which she described as a “vast, vast place to be.” Her new horror thriller ‘Immaculate’ opened in US theaters end of March. With another undiscussed project in development, Sweeney will then turn to ‘Barbarella’. Now that is a stunning range of projects — perhaps a true commentary on women’s lives.

/The Hollywood strike disrupted actor Sydney Sweeney’s ability to speak about her past and future projects with the September 2023 issue of S Moda for El Pais [IG].
Readers do get a lesson in just how fervently Sydney Sweeney knew at the young age of three that she had a gift for acting. Once she understood people had actual jobs in acting, her young vision was fully-formed.
It was then that the 10-year-old took control of the situation with her five-year plan — which she presented to her parents. Key steps included “meeting casting directors, auditioning for short films, student films, or commercials.”

/‘Euphoria’ star Sydney Sweeney is receiving raves for her role in the film ‘Reality’. Following the film’s premiere at the Berlin Film Festival on February 18, 2023 — and staggeringly positive reviews — HBO has moved to pickup distribution rights.
In 2018 Reality Winner, a former intelligence contractor for NSA, left her National Security Agency contractor’s office at the Fort Gordon army base in Georgia. In hand was a single intelligence report about Russian attempts to meddle in the 2016 presidential election that saw Donald J. Trump beat Hillary Clinton for the White House.
Tina Satter directed the film, based on the story of Reality Winner’s day that the FBI showed up at her door. This press conference video says much about the structure of the FBI investigation and ‘friendly’ confrontation with Winner at her home. The FBI interview is also discussed in the ‘60 Minutes’ video.
Actors Marchant Davis, Josh Hamilton, and Benny Elledge have roles in the film.

/‘Euphoria’ star Sydney Sweeney fronts the new Miu Miu ‘Wander’ handbag campaign, shot by Tyrone Lebon. Sweeney is deeply embedded in pop culture consciousness, playing the villain Cassie in season two of ‘Euphoria’ and starring as the easily antagonized Olivia Mossbacher in ‘The White Lotus.’
Sweeney compares the two roles, saying “I don’t think as many people took me seriously in ‘euphoria’ because I took my shirt off.” In ‘The White Lotus’, Sweeney keeps her clothes on and people call her “amazing”.
This is exactly the kind of rebellious, young woman candor that Miuccia Prada loves.

/'Valley of the Dolls' Is No Accident in Sydney Sweeney's Savage X Fenty Campaign
The boys club led by Gore Vidal, and Truman Capote totally panned ‘Valley of the Dolls’, turning up the heat on author Jacqueline Susann, saying she looked like a “truck driver in drag” on The Tonight Show. Other critics said Susann must have written her best seller on a “cash register.”
Vice generously provides a key link to a 2000 Vanity Fair article ‘Once Was Never Enough’ about Susann’s life pre and post dolls. She died an early death from breast cancer , saying “Yeah, I think I’ll be remembered . . . as the voice of the 60s . . . Andy Warhol, the Beatles and me.”
Rihanna and Susann
Besides the obvious connection that the drug scene is at play in ‘Euphoria’, with Sydney Sweeney’s character Cassie having lived in Susann’s head, consider also that Rihanna is channeling Susann here. The author’s response to critics of her tacky, talentless self was “Too many male writers are writing for the critics,” she declared. “I write for the public.”
Susann’s feminist success was a precursor to Rihanna’s own self-created success in business, not only the music industry. Riri brings the same “I create for the people” attitude to everything she does. Last week, Rihanna made her debut on ‘The Sunday Times Rich list. Her third place spot on the richest musicians list had her overtaking legends Elton John and Mick Jagger.
