The Greeks in Southern Italy
The fashion shoot takes place at Metaponto, located in the fertile region of Basilicata in southern Italy, an area that traces its origins to ancient Greek colonization during the 7th century BCE.
Metaponto As a Cultural Center
Metaponto quickly became part of the network of Greek polities in Magna Graecia, a term used to describe the cluster of wealthy and influential Greek colonies in southern Italy. The city became a cultural center, attracting philosophers and artists. Pythagoras himself is said to have spent time in Metaponto, further elevating its status. Over time, Metaponto developed into a significant and thriving city, integral to the overarching narrative of Greek colonization and cultural exchange in the Mediterranean region and across southern Italy.

Peng Chang’s potential as a campaign muse is also strong, and she can capitalize on her art-house persona. This card — the art-house one — may be her strongest — especially when you have photographers Zhong Lin and Elizaveta Porodina on your resume.
Actor and businesswoman Naomi Watts covers the October 2025 issue of Vogue Greece [IG] in advance of the premier of ‘All’s Fair’. The Hulu legal drama series has Watts playing Liberty Ronson, in the ensemble cast of an all-female law firm with a practice centered on high-stakes divorce cases.
Other members of this phenom ballbreakers cast include Glenn Close, Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson, Teyana Taylor and — wait for it — Kim Kardashian. Good goddess; as if Kardashian doesn’t have enough to do.
No wonder Disney had to settle with Jimmy Kimmel, with Hulu subscriptions flying cancelled in their faces right before this debut.
Top model Angelina Kendall and professional freeskier Alex Hall are styled by Tom Guinness in ‘The Get’, a not-very-serious ski bunnies story lensed by Larissa Hofmann [IG] for American Vogue [IG] October 2025./ Hair by Shiori Takahashi; makeup by Thom Walker
Kris Jenner covers the September 2025 issue of Vogue Arabia, leaving social media in warp speed chatter about details of her facelift, while Jenner talks with Vogue Arabia writer about her first job at age 10 being responsible for the wrapping station at two candle stores owned her mother and grandmother.
AOC adds a broader commentary to Jenner’s interview with EIC Manuel Arnault. In July 2024, doctors found a ‘growing’ tumor and cyst on Kris Jenner’s ovary. She initially planned for an ovary removal but accepted the doctor's recommendation for a complete removal of her reproductive organs as a precaution against future cancer growth, especially the highly-deadly ovarian cancer.
Top model Elsa Hosk loves her Vogue Czechoslovakia [IG] October 2025 cover story, a photo shoot that created a “poetic and tranquil day” for Elsa. She was ready for one of those memorable photoshoots, affectionately called “a love letter to Elsa” by Vogue.
Hosk is styled by Veronica Bergamini and lensed by Carly Dame [IG] at Hotel Chateau Voltaire [IG]. Sporty & Rich founder Emily Oberg is the longest-staying guest at the apartment hotel on Rue Saint-Roch.

Vogue Australia September 2025 [IG] finds Abbey Lee [Kershaw] at home in her Williamsburg, Brooklyn loft preparing for her eighth cover for the magazine. She shares the loft with her partner Milo.
Writer Alison Veness visits Abbey Lee weeks before the debut of the new Netflix series ‘Black Rabbit’ starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman on September 18.
The difference between modelling and acting, Abbey Lee says, is like night and day. “I mean, modelling is financially fulfilling, and you get to travel around the world, but at the end of the day a model has one very simple task. As an actor, it’s about your voice, your mind, your emotions, your physicality and your intelligence.”
Paloma Elsesser continues to inspire, today with her September 2025 cover story for Vogue Germany [IG]. One of fashion’s strongest voices wears Louis Vuitton on the cover, styled by Harry Lambert in images by Julia Noni [IG]./ Hair by Pierre Saint Sever; makeup by Patrick Glatthaar
Elsesser is joined by model Rayan Mazuel in select images of a larger cast not published.
Vogue Germany features director Maria Hunstig highlights one of Elsesser’s poems personalized on a dress by Macy Grimshaw. Paloma’s words are posted.

KenGi heads for Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the fashion story styled by Tabitha Simmons at Diamond Cross Ranch [IG]. Photographer Lachlan Bailey [IG] shoots his first American Vogue cover story at Diamond Cross Ranch.
Chloe Malle, named the new Head of Editorial Content at Vogue US, is on the interview. The dialogue is heavier than spun sugar on a stick at the state fair — almost folksy — but definitely apolitical, no comentary about the world writ large. Just two longtime, down-home friends having a scat style, verbal bubblebath. And Chloe Malle writes it all down in short, crisp sentences.
British fabric designer and landscape designer Miranda Brooks invites us to Catswood, the home she shares with her husband, architect Bastien Halard, and their daughters, Poppy and Violette Grey. In Gloucestershire, the comforts of family meet the pleasures of wardrobe staples in the pages of Vogue’s September 2025 issue.
Catswood is also the name of the fabric business created around the family gardens by Brooks and Halard.

Vogue Czech Honors Freyja
The Nordic goddess Freyja was on my mind this spring, when I wrote about the ancient history of women in Scotland, connected to a post about the Dior Cruise 2025 collection ‘Highland Fling’ featuring Debra Shaw.
The Nordic mythology around Freyja is just one more example of belief systems in our pre-monotheism world. While we’re not ‘going there’ today, what is called Ancestral Odinism is being co-opted by right-wingers seeking an alternative to Christian nationalism.
Angola-born model Blesnya Minher is styled by Carolina Orrico in Alaïa, Jil Sander, Khaite, Loewe, Saint Laurent and more for a fashion story ‘Fuerza Exterior’ filled with strong, outerware and accessories style statements.

Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci and more are returning for the sequel of their 2006 hit ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. That’s all the buzz and now Emily Blunt is bringing her “shocking platinum hair” to her cover story for Vogue Hong Kong [IG] August 2025 issue.
Playing Dawn Staples in ‘The Smashing Machine’
In October we will see Blunt in ‘The Smashing Machine’, where she plays Dawn Staples in the biographical sports drama film about her ex-husband, UFC champion Mark Kerr. Directed by Benny Safdie, the film explores the brutal and raw nature of MMA.
Mark Kerr is played by Emily Blunt’s longtime friend and co-star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Blunt and Johnson have significant mutual trust in each other, which was required to portray a high-combustion relationship that was searingly contentious and then “filled with love, connection, and intimacy.”
Both Blunt and Johnson committed themselves to being vulnerable, and it shows in the finished film, according to the cover star.
