The Original Mille Miglia [1927-1957]
The Race: This was a dangerous, high-speed endurance race held on public roads in Italy. The figure-eight shaped course ran from Brescia to Rome and back, covering about 1,000 miles. The race was banned in 1957 following a horrific crash that killed driver Alfonso de Portago, his navigator, and nine spectators.
Legacy: The original race was known for making famous marques like Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, and Mercedes-Benz, with legendary drivers like Stirling Moss competing.

Rising model Libby Bennett took the spotlight in Harper’s Bazaar Italia’s ‘Bright Young Things’ N.15 cover story. AOC wondered what we’ve missed from Bennett’s portfolio, and this November 2024 fashion story styled by Alice Goddard, working with fashion director Sissy Vian jumped right out of the pages.
Photographer Alasdair McLellan [IG] shot the story at Morecambe Bay, Lancashire, located in north-west England, south of Lake District National Park.

On December 6, 2024, a crew from Bazaar Italia’s new issue N.17 — devoted to the Extreme Self — was in Los Angeles to shoot one of the cover stories.
The entourage included British model Libby Bennett, who covered Bazaar Italia’s issue N.15 November 2024 issue and returns again with a print cover for the new issue.
American model Valerie Scherzinger has been working in fashion since 2020. She takes two issue N. 17 covers: the black and white digital, followed by her glam girl print version.
Photographer Glen Luchford [IG] led the creative team in capturing ‘Lost Highway’, immersing us in a cinematic atmosphere that evokes the artistic community of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Sunset Boulevard days before catastrophe happened in LA. Those images are uniquely precious today, capturing a ‘California Dreaming’ moment days before many of those same sights burned beyond recognition in one of the most devastating fires in the history of California.
