Libby Bennett & Valerie Scherzinger by Glen Luchford Cover Bazaar Italia N.17

On December 6, 2024, a crew from Bazaar Italia’s new issue N.17 — devoted to the Extreme Self — was in Los Angeles to shoot one of the cover stories.

The entourage included British model Libby Bennett, who covered Bazaar Italia’s issue N.15 November 2024 issue and returns again with a print cover for the new issue.

American model Valerie Scherzinger has been working in fashion since 2020. She takes two issue N. 17 covers: the black and white digital, followed by her glam girl print version.

Photographer Glen Luchford [IG] led the creative team in capturing ‘Lost Highway’, immersing us in a cinematic atmosphere that evokes the artistic community of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Sunset Boulevard days before catastrophe happened in LA. Those images are uniquely precious today, capturing a ‘California Dreaming’ moment days before many of those same sights burned beyond recognition in one of the most devastating fires in the history of California.

When You Marry Knee Pads with a LBD, You Don't Get a Tradwife | WSJ Magazine

Who could resist sharing this WSJ Magazine September 2024 fashion story ‘Outfits That Let You Get Away With Sweatpants and Heels’ side-by-side with Sporty & Rich Drops Core Collection Faced by Andreea Diaconu! Not AOC.

What a perfect segue for AOC to say “Listen up, Emily Oberg. This transition into putting on a LBD is for you.”

WSJ’s fashion message is clear in “Outfits That Let You Get Away With Sweatpants and Heels”. Forget old-fashioned rules for hanging out at the King Cole Bar in cocktail dresses from your nana’s closet. Photographer Luna Conte [IG] captures models Abuk Adier and Valerie Scherzinger styled by Alexander Fisher. / Hair by Nero; makeup by Allie Smith

Above, we begin with a Loro Piana jacket [left] paired with Nike bike shorts hanging out with a Balenciaga jacket [right] and Nike. Below a Louis Vuitton LBD [left] kisses up to a Harry Winston necklace and earrings and Nike knee pads while Coperni Paris [right] sides with a De Beers necklace.

Other brands include Alaïa, Bally, Champion, Dolce & Gabbana, Dries Van Noten, Fabiana Filippi, Giorgio Armani, Hermès, High Sport, Isabel Marant, Khaite, Loewe, Michael Kors Collection, Prada and more.

Reflections on Nike Knee Pads and Peggy Noonan

Note that we have no tradwives in these images, but many a modern man could have evil thoughts racing through his mind with those Nike knee pads.

Opus Dei needs to banish this fashion story from its very long forbidden-reading list because fashion is a great corruptor of young minds. It’s precisely these kinds of ‘innocent’ images that begin a pure mind’s descent into secular degradation.

Anna Wintour tried to alleviate those Opus Dei concerns about secular contamination of society with her ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ theme of her 2018 Met Gala. Nice try, Anna, but repression got worse.

Today we have Pulitizer-prize winning WSJ columnist Peggy Noonan raging artfully against the decision of presidential candidate Kamala Harris not to attend Archbishop Timothy Dolan’s Al Smith dinner. Anne left a comment juicier than the steak on Dolan’s plate, trying to explain that maybe Harris isn’t in the mood to have a good laugh with the notoriously-jovial archbishop.

Not when maternal death rates are soaring in America and 65% of Catholics support abortion rights, according to Pew Research 2024. No institution in America is more directive in stripping American women of our rights than the Opus Dei right-wing of the Catholic Church with adherents now dominating the US Supreme Court.

Yes, the US Supreme Court is at odds with American Catholics at-large.

Maybe VP Harris doesn’t want to have a jolly good laugh, photographed seated next to the Archbishop on October 17, 2024 and shooting the breeze with her magnificent laugh.

Women are dying in Georgia and Noonan is still attacking Harris trying to deliver some joy to the nation. Just yesterday Anne learned about Noonan’s 2020 obsession with the VP’s laugh — AND dancing. Yup, Harris was dancing and that event also prompted condemnation from Noonan.

Former Senator Claire McCaskill really let Noonan have it on Morning Joe in 2020 [will post the video]. It’s kind of a contradiction when Peggy Noonan herself has a repressed revulsion of darkness — whether she knows it or not.

You would think the writer of some of Reagan’s most genuinely-inspiring speeches would celebrate Harris carrying a Status of Liberty torch out of Trumpism’s hate-filled loathing of democratic principles into the light of positivity.

Nope. Peggy Noonan sees no certifiable joy in Kamala Harris’ very existence. Noonan hasn’t called Kamala a witch yet — although I better search my assumption. But she does believe Harris is a total fraud — an imposter.

Even WSJ men readers are calling Noonan harsh and inaccurate about reality in recent weeks. Anne kept is simple, writing that Peggy Noonan is no Liz Cheney. Too many Republican women are openly supporting Harris for Noonan to be crouching behind the couch but still yelling bad things about Kamala Harris far and wide.

Sorry WSJ Magazine, but you gave Anne too good an opening with those knee pads and a little black dress. I could continue, but will be a good Noonan-vintage, former-Catholic girl and take my foot off the gas pedal.

No need to lose my AOC drivers license a month before the election. Have a good day, everybody. ~ Anne

Giorgio Armani launched Armani Neve in the mid-90s, long before ski collections became a trend. The Italian perfectionist’s approach to high-style design and ‘la dolce vita’ living on the ski slopes makes another decades-old bow with the new Winter 2023/24 collection.
