Adidas announced that Bjørn Gulden will take over as CEO on 1 January 2023, after leading a successful Puma rerival. The announcement should help to stabilize financial markets’ perception of Adidas, given Gulden’s leadership at the brand as senior vice president of apparel and accessories in the 1990s,.
“We are very pleased to welcome Bjørn Gulden back at Adidas. [He] brings almost 30 years of experience in the sporting goods and footwear industry. As a result, he knows the industry extremely well and draws on a rich network in sport and retail,” said Thomas Rabe, chairman of the supervisory board. “Bjørn already served Adidas successfully for seven years in the 1990s. As CEO of Puma, he reinvigorated the brand and led the company to record results.

Honestly, I thought that Kanye might have a bit of humility after the very public embarassment of burning down his business with his MAGA-love, White Lives Matter, anti-Semitic month of October. To read that West hadn’t even bothered to trademark White Lives Matter was astonishing for a man who used to think he should run with Bernard Arnaud.
It’s really not “master of the universe thinking” to blow your entire business up over an incendiary brand concept, coupled with your anti-Semitism, and you didn’t bother to trademark your brand concept. Who did you blame that oops on Kanye?
Models Adwoa Aboah, Lina Zhang and Beyoncé Ambrose headline the Chloé FW2022 campaign, styled by Camilla Nickerson. Zoe Ghertner [IG] captures the campaign images.
Gabriela Hearst — unlike McCartney — is committed to using leather in her clothes because her supplier is credentialed by the EU and the leather is sourced from meat industry by-products.
Chloé used only recycled cashmere in her knitted sweaters and skirts. The barren ground on which the models are standing in these images is referencing this concept of overgrazing and a total depletion of the soil.

Swedish supermodel Elsa Hosk is launching her own brand called ‘Helsa’ in September 2022.

Hosk is keeping this launch like a quiet ebb. The Scandi beauty has always stressed the importance of sustainability and it would be shocking if she doesn’t create sustainable products.

After 22 years, Tod’s Della Valle family want to delist Tod’s Group from the Italian Stock Exchange, offering stockholders a premium on their shares to essentially take their profits and go home — so that Tod’s can manage its business affairs with a more brand-building, longterm-success strategy.
“Brothers Diego and Andrea Della Valle control 63.64 percent of Tod’s shares. Delphine S.A.S. under the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Group will remain in the Tod’s capital with its current 10 percent stake,” writes WWD.
In the Fall 2022 campaign, Chiuri is inspired by the objectified female subjects of ‘Old Masters’, as transformed by living Italian feminist artist Mariella Bettineschi. In the fashion show, the models clearly referenced the women in Renaissance paintings, but reborn as women and girls with their own agency and ability to understand the ways of the world at work around them.

Hyperpigmentation is the number one skin concern among women of color. Melanin plays a big role in how the skin functions, and it reacts differently to inflammation, UV light, hydration and even active skincare ingredients. What EADEM is wrestling with in the product development universe is far more complex than sunscreen products for women of color.
On this first morning in post-Roe America, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is on my mind. She occupies my brain space — not because of her recent appointment as a Louis Vuitton ambassador and not because she “stole the show” in Cannes in early June, appointed as a member of the 2022 Cannes Festival nine-person jury.
