What a gift Vogue Arabia has given to the world — this exquisitely beautiful fashion story in the March 2023 issue. My senses are in total overload and my heart is filled with gratitude to all the creative talent and energy assembled here.
The art collage of model Abuk Adier with Art Factory Studio [their website] posing with paintings by Rashid Al Khalifa [link] raises my pulse with expectations. The artist is interviewed on Vogue Arabia. Currently, he is the chairman of the National Council of the Arts and is honorary chairman of the Bahrain Arts Society.
This is just such a gorgeous gift to the world, and I love how Vogue Arabia weaves art into the fashion narrative. We’re seeing more of that at Global Vogue as well. But Vogue Arabia has a fantastic mission of educating readers about their world, and I appreciate the strategy tremendously. These images are burned into my brain, they are so intoxicating. ~ Anne
Supermodel/talent Gigi Hadid has four covers in the March 2023 issue of Vogue Netherlands. Linda Gumus Gerritsen styles Hadid in images by Gigi’s close friend Alana O’Herlihy [IG].
Politico did what good journalists do on an important story. They dug deeply and late Monday, Christopher Cadelago sprung a humdinger of a piece of news about events surrounding California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s ire and staff negotiations with Walgreens over their front of the pack capitulation to the demands of red state AGs around the distribution of abortion pills.
Now the governor may be a forgiving kind of guy, but the first thought that went through my mind reading the post was “that’s one hell of a bridge to burn”, especially as the darling not only of Governor Newsom but also as a senior policy adviser to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
Meet Ann O’Leary, Former Chief of Staff to Gavin Newsom
I speak of the lawyer on the phone with Newsom’s inner circle staff, as a lead representative for Walgreens: Ann O’Leary, the governor’s first chief of staff and now a partner in the law firm Jenner & Block.
Models Adit Priscilla, Barbara Valente, Louise Robert and Sherry Shi take the stage in Missoni’s Spring/Summer 2023 Campaign. Missoni’s new creative director, Filippo Grazioli introduces us to his vision of Missoni, taking a more reductionist approach to a sexy body-con silhouette.
In truth, the new designer has already jazzed things up for the fall 2023 collection, based on the recent show. Returning to the spring campaign, Lorenzo Posocco styles the shoot, photographed by Theo Wenner [IG].
As fashion once again embraces sensuality, lingerie dressing is again a trend. In the case of top model Sora Choi, Alex White chooses a punkish spin with suspenders and buckles on sheer and fragile fabrics from Christopher Kane, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and more. Even Chanel courts buyers with a strapless harness dress.

Makeup artist Sam Visser brings sky and earth tones to top model SashaPivovarova’s smoky aquamarine and peacock blue eyes and sandy-neutrals face. The visual undercurrent is not only bold but complex, as the setting sun on the horizon drenches water, waves and Sasha in increasingly inky darkness.
There is female mystery in Carlijn Jocobs’ [IG] images, with Sasha rising from the ocean depths as a full-dressed, boss lady sea goddess styled by Imruh Asha. Sasha’s blonde hair bob by Mustafa Yanaz co-exists with her ivory head-helmet bathing cap.

The artisan brand has an incredibly beautiful website with equally inspiring products that include eyeglasses as the lead product, supplemented with select jewelry pieces, gifts and home products.
Like this Twitter follower, I was also watching Ali Velshi on MSNBC Saturday, when he reported that Walgreens had donated money to the very Red State AGs group that sent Walgreens the onimous “don’t do it” letter about selling abortion pills in their stores.
Unlike Fox News, Ali Velshi is very particular about the words coming out of his mouth. While we don’t know the amount of money donated — and whether a similar amount was donated to a Blue State AGs group — I do not challenge the veracity of Velshi’s claim. He would not make it without the receipts.
This new revelation didn’t make me feel any better about Walgreens CEO Roz Brewer, a businesswoman we celebrated on her appointment to the Walgreens Boots Alliance corner office as the first Black woman CEO.

The Coco Mademoiselle fragrance and Whitney Peak are a perfect match. Whitney Peak isn’t a shy femme; rather she embraces her bold and carefree side, as expressed in her natural, 2023 Diana Ross hairdo.

The design of the Louis Vuitton ‘Crochet Leather Overshirt’ is hardly workwear in the style of the American West . . . or even coal miners in Appalachia. Those pretty crochet Louis Vuitton flowers and emblems would get real dusty damn fast.
To purchase the jacket will cost you $37,000 and it’s made to order, so you must contact your local LV to pursue the conversation.
OMG! What LV could do under Pharrell is to create the patches custom — with plenty of LVs, of course. But after purchasing a DNA test as part of the jacket, the wearer could learn his/her roots. Then a select number of patches could honor those roots.
