Craig McDean Flashes Kris, Marjan, Sora in 'On the Line' for Zara Beauty

Zara is making a big splash in the beauty business, working with British makeup artist Diane Kendal. Currently living in New York City, Kendal is the beauty product consultant and makeup artist for Marc Jacobs Beauty, and has developed product lines for Calvin Klein Cosmetics. She is also favored by Poenza Schouler, Tory Burch and Tom Ford.

Zara Beauty launched globally last Wednesday with its own beauty-specific in-store presentation. According to Zara beauty director Eva Lopez, the goal for the brand was simple: inclusivity. “Our ambition was to create a collection that anyone, regardless of gender, skin color, age, or personal style will want to use,” she says. “Somebody that wants a classic, softer makeup look can find their products, and somebody that’s more experimental can find the colors they need to create that, too,” continues Kendal, adding “we wanted to appeal to everybody.”

Inaugural Poet Amanda Gorman Lensed Spectacularly by Annie Leibovitz for Vogue May

Inaugural Poet Amanda Gorman Lensed Spectacularly by Annie Leibovitz for Vogue May

America’s real-life young poet goddess Amanda Gorman covers the May 2021 issue of Vogue US. Gorman is photographed in spectacular images by one of America’s finest photographers Annie Leibovitz, with styling by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson.

We are grateful that Anna Wintour sought to elevate Amanda Gorman in a way that she did not elevate US Vice President Kamala Harris. Seeing these images brought copious tears to AOC eyes.

No tears were inspired by the Vogue US Kamala Harris images — which remain unposted on AOC. To say I was personally disturbed is an understatement — but I’ve never commented until now. Gorman would want us to fix the Kamala Harris omission, and we will.

Vogue might want to consider interviewing Harris on her first anniversary as vice president of America and put Annie Leibovitz behind the lens. It gives me the opportunity to create a collage of both women hanging over my sofa.

Vogue Taiwan Ups Sustainability Commitment with 'Blooming Season' by Zhong Lin for April 2021

Photographer Zhong Lin [IG} shares deep sentiments around the shooting of Vogue Taiwan’s April 2021 cover story with two Tawainese models Chen Hsuan ‘Jessie’ Hsu and Jean Chang. The gorgeous fashion story ‘Blooming Season’ is styled by Joey Lin using brands like Bottega Veneta, Moschino, Stella McCartney and Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. / Hair by Weic Lin; makeup by Shin Tsai

For this cover, every prop and set design were carefully thought out, revolving around the theme ‘To Nature, With Love’. We tried our best to minimise unwanted waste, making sure everyone was in line with one another during the preparation. The flowers were meticulously put together for the shoot. No extravagant set design, it is the bare minimum. No new materials were bought for creating the props, all collected from the trash to be reused then recycled again. The flowers were later adopted by the team after the shoot. The whole process was followed through the end of the shoot, it was fulfilling.

I really appreciate Vogue Taiwan and the team for staying true throughout the whole process. It was a heart-warming experience for me.

In our earlier article about Gisele’s Vogue Hong Kong cover story, we noted the very sad reality that the supermodel with the biggest voice on climate change and especially saving the Brazilian rain forest is losing her battle.

Most recently Gisele is the executive producer of ‘Kiss the Ground’, narrated by Woody Harrelson, with interviews with Bündchen, her husband Tom Brady and Patricia Arquette. The hopeful message of the documentary deals with the topic of Biosequestration or the capture and storage of the atmospheric greenhouse gas carbon dioxide by continual or enhanced biological processes.
