Bella, Adut, Jill, Paloma in Victoria's Secret Very Sexy 'Midnight at the Oasis' Fall 2022 Campaign

Smart Sensuality glamour girls Adut Akech, Bella Hadid, Jill Kortleve and Paloma Elsesser channel the ‘70s classic ‘Midnight at the Oasis’ in name and message but not music in the video. Artist Maria Muldaur sang about an empowered sensual woman in the 1973 more likely on the road in Marrakech than Mexico in the classic tune.

Aware or not, VS is also channeling the sensual, political activist feminist Frida Kahlo in this deeply political and threatening moment for American feminism. As Republicans wage a full-throttle assault on women’s rights in America, perhaps Frida Kahlo is guiding them subliminally.

Aaron Rose Philip by Stanislaw Boniecki for Vogue Poland June 2022

Aaron Rose Philip by Stanislaw Boniecki for Vogue Poland June 2022

Model Aaron Rose Philip [IG] graced the pages of Vogue Poland’s June 2022 issue, styled by Carolina Orrico in images by Stanislaw Boniecki [IG]./ Hair by Jerome Cultrera; makeup by Roy Liu

I honestly don’t know how AOC missed Aaron Rose Philip, but we did. No excuses and my apologies. ‘What a marvelous human being’ are the only words that come to mind to describe this Antiguan-American model, now 21. In 2018, she became the first black, transgender, and physically disabled model to be represented by a major modeling agency.

Vogue interviewed Philip last November in a series called ‘How I Got Here’. Her comments are a life lesson in how to envision success by creating optimal conditions for it to happen.

Dior Fall 2022 Campaign by Brigitte Niedermair Hugs Mariella Bettineschi's Male Gaze Reversal

In the Fall 2022 campaign, Chiuri is inspired by the objectified female subjects of ‘Old Masters’, as transformed by living Italian feminist artist Mariella Bettineschi. In the fashion show, the models clearly referenced the women in Renaissance paintings, but reborn as women and girls with their own agency and ability to understand the ways of the world at work around them.

Kate Moss Loves Her Diet Coke in ES Magazine July 22 by Quentin Jones

Kate Moss Loves Her Diet Coke in ES Magazine July 22 by Quentin Jones

Legendary 1990s supermodel Kate Moss was recently named the new creative director of Diet Coke. The brand says it tapped her for her “unique aesthetic and style”, a heritage Moss owned as she delivered four limited edition cans of Diet Coke in London this week.

ES Magazine editor Ben Cobb visited Kate in at her west London home.

LOL. Kate Moss is a good little woman, though. Or perhaps Cobb is really special. “during our chat, she keeps my glass of water filled with ice, running back to an American-sized fridge” . .

Yes, yes . . . there’s plenty of Diet Coke in the refrigerator. Cobb spies it chilling there. Wait . . . oh wait . . . Kate Moss “struggles to open the door.” LOL. How old is this guy? I expect him to jump up and save Kate from the big, bad fridge any minute. She is a real-deal damsel in distress.

Which Luxury Bags Speak to You: Golden Goose or Celine?

In the world of bags, the luxury buyer has many to choose from. I chose these two brands — Golden Goose and Celine — not for the cool factor, but to speak to their brand DNA. Reality is that when one is spending many hundreds or thousands of dollars for a bag or leather accessory, the 2022 customer is more eager than ever before to know the story behind the brand, the ethics and sustainability initiatives employed by the owners, and how the brand reflects us — the buyers.

Emma Corrin Covers Vogue US August 2022 Lensed by Jamie Hawkesworth

I know we are all very rattled over the anti-trans legislation in red states, but then Roe got shot down, too. AOC’s activism is very focused on Christian fascism and white nationalism in this moment. The end of our imperfect democracy is in sight — if we don’t fight this back by the 2024 election.

People I respect say “It’s do or die time,” and they are not exaggerating.

AOC is not worried about “he, she, it, they, them . . . “ in this moment. We are focused on the American Taliban increasingly riding roughshod over all of us. No disrespect intended to pronouns.

EADEM's Smart Melanin™ Technology for Beautiful Women of Color

Hyperpigmentation is the number one skin concern among women of color. Melanin plays a big role in how the skin functions, and it reacts differently to inflammation, UV light, hydration and even active skincare ingredients. What EADEM is wrestling with in the product development universe is far more complex than sunscreen products for women of color.
