Bulgari 'Mediterranea': A Voyage of Timeless High Jewelry Elegance in the Human Story
/Amidst the vibrant colors and alluring stories of the Mediterranean Sea, Bulgari [IG] unveils more images of its truly stunning High Jewelry ‘Mediterranea’ Collection 2023.
Scandebergs [IG], ‘cosmic explorers’ Stefano Clombini and Alberto Albanese have photographed these soul-stirring images.
Anne of Carversville first featured the Bulgari High Jewelry ‘Mediterranea’ Collection in late May 2023.
Drawing inspiration from the essence of the Mediterranean region, this remarkable collection pays homage to the eternal allure of the sea, translating it into meticulously crafted masterpieces that whisper tales of splendor, enchantment and discovery in one-of-a-kind pieces.
Visual artist Giuseppe Lo Schiavo [IG] is also a key part of these images, creating three digital artworks with the largest resolution ever produced to date. Not only is the totality of each image breathtaking, but photographers are able to lift individual images out of the artworks that retain a high resolution and rich, impeccable attention to detail.
Inspired by Ancient Life in the Lands Surrounding the Mediterranean Sea
The ‘Mediterranea’ Collection emerges as a symphony of nature's elements from across the region, with the ever-changing hues of turquoise waters, the effervescent sparkle of sunlight dancing on waves, and the timeless beauty of seashells that whisper secrets from beneath the depths.
Exquisite gemstones come together to form breathtaking compositions, much like the harmony between the sea, sky, and land on the Mediterranean coast. The collection showcases vivid aquamarines, vibrant sapphires, fiery citrines, and lustrous diamonds, set in Bulgari's signature bold and contemporary designs.
Bulgari has skillfully captured these evocative elements and transformed them into art pieces that exude elegance, unmatched craftsmanship and Bulgari’s irrevocable commitment to sustainable practices.
‘Bulgari Mediterranea’ Book
Now Bulgari has also published a book about the region ‘Bulgari Mediterranea’ due out in September 2023.
The 180 pages are filled with the precious creations of the High Jewelry and High-End Watches brand, inspired since its beginnings. The Bulgari creations visually touch everything that makes up the natural beauty, spirit and spice of the Mediterranean region, as Kenya Hunt, editor-in-chief of ELLE UK, points out in her introduction.
Featuring an illustrious group of talented writers including Kenya Hunt, Lucia Silvestri, Michela Marzano, Leïla Slimani, Stefania Auci, and Andrea Marcolongo, ‘Bulgari Mediterranea’ weaves together compelling narratives and intriguing insights into the essence of the Mediterranean region.
‘Ithaca’: The Story of Us
Trade routes are almost always tied to the story of how humans learned about each other and influenced each others’ thinking. The situation was hardly static in the evolution of humanity out of Africa and into the Levant.
The most important fact about the Levant is that it represents a land bridge between Africa and Eurasia. Today we speak of the Levant as lands encompassing present-day Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and most of Turkey southwest of the middle Euphrates.
It’s these trade routes that historically link today’s humans with each other.
In part two of this Bulgari ‘Mediterranea’ post featuring the six women behind the new book and the imagery captured by Scandebergs of Giuseppe Lo Schiavo exceptional vingettes, I hope you will understand my great attachment to this video, set to C.P. Cavafy’s poem ‘Ithaca’.
The minute I saw the images, my spirit flew directly to this extraordinary poem. Bulgari should create their own masterpiece film, around this reading — which in many ways is the story of my own philosophical approach to life and experiences around the globe.
The night I slept in a small sailboat, sailing the Ionian Sea and dropping anchor in Ithaca is among the most extraordinary experiences of my life. ~ Anne
