Swarovski Mother's Day 2025 with Sara Grace Wallerstedt and Divine Mugisha

Swarovski Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert had her ‘ducks in a row’ at Monday night’s Met Gala. Or should we say ‘her birdies? Supermodel new mom Adut Akech was just was just dazzling, arriving hand in hand with Engelbert. Hang tight; AOC will share the pics shortly.

In case you’ve forgotten — Mother’s Day 2025 is Sunday, May 11th, so let’s get down to priority business. Not long after being appointed Swarovski’s first ever creative director in 2020, Giovanna Engelbert set about launching her first designs for the crystal supremo. Among her inaugural range was a bold new collection called the Millenia.

The luxe, eye-catching pieces, with their distinctive geometric cuts in chunky, color-saturated necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings was a winner. Combining witty designs, vivid colours and Instagram-worthy optics, the audacious Swarovski Millenia collection was scooped by a younger audience.

Moms noticed and left not subtle hints they too might like to take a ride out of their safety zones — depending on Mom’s age of course — with a gift from Swarovski’s Mother’s Day Millenia Collection Campaign.

Young moms like Adut Akech live way beyond any fear of shaking up their favorite suburban neighborhood. But now, bold jewelry spies are hinting loudly that all moms everywhere are ready to live dangerously — within respectable behavior parameters, of course.

You cannot go wrong with flowers on Mother’s Day, but let’s get real. Swarovski is dead-on-correct in pressing us to imagine mom with Idyllia Collection everlasting blooms around her neck. Mother Nature knows best.

Who knows. A bit of Swarovski dazzle might get dad’s attention, too. Or her second husband’s. Or maybe new boyfriend. Or — if mom is really ‘putting the pedal to the metal’. . . wearing that fabulous shade of lilac . . .
