As Italo Calvino wrote, “The city does not tell its past; it contains it like the lines of a hand.” Rome—the eternal muse of the double-F house—tells its story in every corner and every crack. “If you don’t bring something grand, eccentric, or nonchalant to the table, you risk being overshadowed.” says Delfina to Bazaar Italia.

Rome’s Jubliee Year 2025 and Fendi’s 100th Anniversary

In 2025, Rome celebrates the Jubilee Year, also known as the Holy Year, a significant event in the Catholic Church. This special year of grace is a time for spiritual renewal, forgiveness, and pilgrimage, with millions of faithful expected to visit Rome.

The moment is timely in the summer of 2025, with the rise of the world’s new Pope Leo, who seemingly shares major values and beliefs with his predecessor Pope Francis.

“The city is being reborn this year, and with this collection, I like the idea of bringing fragments of the city to the world.” Those ‘fragments’ are garnets, tourmalines, topazes, tanzanites, emeralds, yellow Fendi diamonds the color of sun-baked parchment.

Fendi is also celebrating its own 100th anniversary as a fashion house in 2025, inspiring Delfina Delettrez Fendi, the guardian of Fendi family history, to deliver a standout series of Fendi High Jewelry designs.

Five Fendi Sisters Who First Arrived in Bassinets to the Fendi Studio

The soul-gasping “Les Cinq Doigts d’une Main” collection of five spectacular rings is a tribute to the singular personalities of the five women of Fendi, daughters of Delfina’s great-grandmother Adele Casagrande Fendi.

‘Les Cinq Doigts d’une Main’ was originally a sketch by Karl Lagerfeld, long associated with Fendi as its creative director before he passed. The sisters are Paola, Franca, Carla, Alda, and Anna, and all would branch off and contribute to the company based on their inclinations and natural gifts.

As AOC’s headline asserts, the five Fendi sisters first arrived in the Fendi studio in their bassinets.

Years after the five sisters had their hand in the evolution of Fendi, so would their daughters and granddaughters. Each Fendi woman has her own story that helps define the bigger picture of the DNA of this prestigious Italian Fashion House, now part of the LVMH family.

These five spectacular rings in ‘Les Cinq Doights d’une Main’ honor their legacy.

Fendi’s restoration of the Grotto of Diana was officially opened to the public on May 6, housed at Villa d’Este in Tivoli, an hour’s drive from Rome.

Fendi’s artistic director of accessories and menswear Silvia Venturini Fendi said the restoration represented “an act of love’ for the luxury house — the latest in a centuries-long journey of protecting and enhancing Italy’s cultural heritage.

The restoration carried significant meaning in 2025 as Fendi celebrated its own centennial anniversary.
