Bella Hadid Named Chopard Global Ambassador in Rich, Modern Alliance
/Supermodel, Orabella and Kin Euphorics entrepreneur, social justice activist Bella Hadid [IG] has been named Global Ambassador of luxury Swiss jewelry house Chopard[IG].
A new Chopard campaign featuring Bella Hadid has launched with images by Alasdair McLellan [IG], whose creative vision has expressed the essence of Chopard over multiple campaigns.
The brand’s focus is Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie collections, including Happy Hearts, Happy Sport, Happy Diamonds, Ice Cube, and Alpine Eagle.
The announcement is no surprise, because Bella was dripping in Chopard’s high jewelry at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May 2024.
Bella’s appointment represents a new chapter for Chopard, according to copresident and artistic director of Chopard Caroline Scheufele.
Scheufele has consistently and publicly expressed core values of the Chopard brand, with its long and rich record of moving the high-jewelry sector forward.
The family-owned company has launched multiple sustainability, recycled steel and ethical gold initiatives in the last decade.
Chopard has a record of paying more than lip service to female empowerment and has also expressed an understanding of the minds and hearts of values-driven vs status-driven younger customers.
In her own statement around her appointment, Bella Hadid emphasized her “special bond with the Scheufele family, especially Caroline, who designs jewellery with women in mind and has a knack for making luxury feel effortless and natural,”
“Bella, a renowned supermodel, fashion icon, and successful entrepreneur with global appeal, has collaborated with Chopard for the past three years. Today, we are thrilled to embark on a new journey together. Bella embodies beauty, elegance, and strength, qualities that perfectly reflect the Chopard woman.”
Vogue Business reached out to Laurent François, managing partner of the creative agency 180 Global in Paris, about the synergy between Bella and Chopard.
“Bella Hadid has built a brand founded on authenticity that resonates across large — and sometimes opposing — demographics,” Françoise explains.
“She embodies diversity with her mixed origins and global perspective. She proudly writes in her Instagram bio that her real name is Isabella Khair Hadid. Then there’s her journey: a hard worker who has explored various aspirations, from sports and photography to modelling and entrepreneurship.”
Françoise considers the Chopard-Bella Hadid match to be very positive for both parties, given Chopard’s “legacy of supporting freedom and women’s empowerment.”
Bella Hadid reflects these shared values in a modern and young way, often with enormous candor when addressing her own health and activist views.
It’s not the case that Bella has not experienced controversy in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But she works through the issues with maturity and a sincere willingness to understand all the dynamics in play.
Bella Hadid is not a binary thinker.
An image of the younger Hadid sister has emerged in AOC’s mind in the past week and it’s one that is shared with Taylor Swift — also under the microscope last week.
Both women are so ‘down to earth’ and accessible to other humans and their fans.
We learned last week that Bella’s Texas-based relationship with cowboy Adan Banuelos early on involved her sharing his trailer.
Yes, Bella Hadid, who now owns a home in Texas, was sharing a smallish trailer and enjoying every moment of her new experience.
During the competitions Bella would wake up at 2:30 am to bring people breakfast. AOC hasn’t yet learned what Bella was making for breakfast for these hungry cowboys, but we can assume it wasn’t avocado toast.
Nor did Hadid post pics on her Instagram. In fact, she has been very private and circumspect about her relationship with Banuelos, behaving in a manner totally divergent with common practices in our Instagram and TikTok-obsessed world of influencers sharing every detail of their lives.
AOC will pick up this theme in a new post devoted to both Bella Hadid and Taylor Swift. They are deeply-inspiring women in a moment when our young people are searching for sincere, life-enhancing, humanity-embracing values they can believe in.
