Saint Laurent Launches Fine Jewelry by Anthony Vaccarello, Lensed by Juergen Teller
/Updated May 27, 2023: Saint Laurent, the renowned French Maison, has recently unveiled its first-ever fine jewelry collection. This groundbreaking launch marks a significant milestone for the brand, which was founded in 1962 by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Bergé.
Though jewelry accessories have always been part of the seasonal YSL collections, "Saint Laurent Haute Joaillerie" is the first to source fine metals. Look at those ladybug nails!!!
The campaign for Saint Laurent's debut jewelry line artfully juxtaposes the elegance of the pieces with the re-potting of a plant, as seen in the Instagram photos by Juergen Teller.
While it's unlikely that these luxurious pieces will be worn during gardening activities, the buzz surrounding the launch is undeniable.
The collection, designed under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello, features a bold, modern, sculptural range of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, and cuffs crafted from gold and diamonds.
People abuse the word ‘chic’ today, and I rarely use it, but this collection is unadulterated French chic to the max. It’s fabulous!
The new jewelry line showcases several signature motifs of the brand, such as the Cassandre and Maillon designs, which are given a fresh twist with their unexpected hard materiality.
The Cassandre is the famous vertical YSL logo, often appearing as shoe heels and handbag hardware, while the Maillon depicts oversized links of a chain that deliver a bold dose of tough glamour. ["Maillon" is the French word for links.]
According to Saint Laurent, the haute joaillerie collection embodies the forward-looking outlook and exacting Parisian excellence that the house of Yves Saint Laurent is known for, while also reflecting Vaccarello's visionary approach.
The gold and diamonds used in the collection have been carefully selected by Vaccarello himself, ensuring the highest quality and craftsmanship.
Available since May 2 at select flagship stores worldwide and online, the collection offers a variety of stunning pieces, with prices ranging from $790 to $48,000. Among the offerings are a gold charm bracelet priced at $1,090, wide cuffs in 18k white gold for $43,300, multichain bracelets retailing at $4,290, and logo stud earrings starting at $790.
Okay, AOC friends. Tell me this isn’t kismet.
Ladybug, Ladybug
I popped over to Anthony Vaccarello’s IG — right after seeing the ladybug nails — to see if I was missing anything. Two pics grabbed me.
The first picture is Vaccarello’s darling child Luca with a ladybug on his hand, next to Juergen Teller’s ladybug nails image. Anthony Vaccarello is married to Arnaud Michaux.
Chic, No?

A few rows down on Vaccarello’s IG is this note from Juergen Teller. I love it when synchronicity is at work in the universe. ~ Anne
