Rihanna Headlines RIMOWA 'Never Still' Fall 2021 Campaign by Gray Sorrenti

Irrepressible superstar Rihanna hosted her Met Gala after party at Rickie Akvia’s new spot Davide in Manhattan’s meatpacking district. Absolutely not the typical dark, disco club with strobe lights, Davide — named for close, late friend Davide Sorrenti — offers guests an underground escape to new and exotic hideaways.

Getaways were on Rihanna’s mind when she hit the road earlier for RIMOWA’S latest ‘Never Still’ campaign. The journey is lensed by Gray Sorrenti, Davide’s 18 year old niece and daughter of photographers Mario Sorrenti and Mary Frey. Gray captured Rihanna in September 2020 on 26 Harper’s Bazaar editions worldwide.

‘Never Still’ People

A short film includes more RIMOWA campaign stars Patti Smith, LeBron James, and Roger Federer. Smith narrates a poem over the video’s cinematic clips — one that strikes a chord with today’s creative, activist-oriented thinkers. and also the LVMH powerhouse stable of brands.

The young Arnault focused on sustainability as a major brand value when he took over as CEO of RIMOWA. He switched printed materials, including the user manual to 100 percent recyclable, biodegradable and FSC-certified paper.

Embracing RIMOWA’S core commitment of making “luggage to last a lifetime”, the company now encourages customers to avail themselves of its client care and repair services. After all, the longer your suitcase lasts, the fewer production demands you will make on the planet.

The brand seeks to incorporate more recycled and recyclable materials into product manufacturing, including upcycling materials at production to reduce waste. Aluminum — the core material used in RIMOWA luggage — is forever recyclable.

Few products can end a sustainability discussion on this note, a fact that inspires more research on AOC’s part.
