Raquel Zimmermann Covers Vogue Korea April in Modern Poetry by Chris Colls

Raquel Zimmermann Covers Vogue Korea April in Modern Poetry by Chris Colls

Top model Raquel Zimmermann is styled by Sarajane Hoare in a striking fashion story for Vogue Korea. People are raving about Raquel’s model performance in the April 2021 issue, and AOC agrees. But can we also agree that Chris Colls’ [IG] recent work also exudes a new vibe? The images remain recognizable as Chris’ work, but spring has sprung, as they say. This cover story is another one of those ensemble situations where all creative cylinders are firing in harmony. Love it! ~ Anne

Top model Binx Walton poses in the deserted streets of New York in austere images that channel post-WWII Britain. Steven Meisel's ZARA Women SS Campaign With Abby, Achenrin, Mona Lights Creative Torch

Legendary photographer Steven Meisel delivers another fashion-lover’s, heart-racing set of visuals with his new Zara Women Spring Summer 2021 Campaign. The Green team will be thrilled, as the Meisel crew is again working remotely and not spewing carbon and jet fuel all over the planet.

Equally important is the reality that no one in his or her right mind can make the argument that the images would be better if the entire Meisel ensemble was in the California desert.

Amber Valletta by Craig McDean in British Vogue's 'Women of the House'

Amber Valletta by Craig McDean in British Vogue's 'Women of the House'

In early 2020, supermodel Amber Valletta became British Vogue’s first Contributing Sustainability Editor. She recently left IMG, who represented her since 2015, moving to Society Management.

Valetta serves as an adviser to One x One, The Conscious Design Initiative in partnership with the U.N., is a board member of the FIT Foundation and is an FIT Sustainability Education Ambassador. The eco warrior’s new collab with the Karl Lagerfeld brand ‘Karl Lagerfeld x Amber Valletta’ is due out this month, but hasn’t arrived at the Karl Lagerfeld website. A sign-up notification is at the bottom of this page.

AOC has spent over 30 minutes trying our best to determine whether or not Valletta’s Dior-rich fashion story has any significant sustainability credentials. British Vogue’s April issue fashion story ‘Women of the House’ — an ode to lockdown house dresses — has none, but for considerable hand-crafted workmanship. If AOC is in error, shoot us a message and we’ll correct at once.. For now, we admit the rare research defeat and share Craig McDean’s [IG] images of Valleta in Dior with styling by Dena Gianni.

British Vogue April 2021 Commits to Fashion Joy in Enninful-Meisel Cover Collab

British Vogue April 2021 Commits to Fashion Joy in Enninful-Meisel Cover Collab

British Vogue Editor in Chief Edward Enninful shares his thoughts on the April covers — each dedicated to an expression of JOY! Edward speaks with great clarity on this topic of joy, citing it as a basic human need but also one that might seen “somehow inappropriate” in these “dark days”.

On a mission to promote the “audacious power of joy”, Enninful reached out to legendary photographer Steven Meisel, suggesting that spring was coming and they needed to pull out all the stops on the April British Vogue covers — four of them.

The two creatives decided to go one step further and celebrate “Black joy – in the wake of so much recent reckoning.” The final result is these four vibrant British Vogue covers featuring Acherin Madit, Janaye Furman, Mona Tougaard and Precious Lee.

For the first time in history — (hard to believe) — Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, now in her seventies, styled a British Vogue cover story. It’s a fact that the fashion editor is the perfect person to call if the goal is to focus on joyful designers and styling.

To all the fashionistas saying that Selena looks like she belongs in a Vogue Living cooking show, AOC responds: “You insulated idiots, Selena Gomez has a streaming cooking show — ‘Selena + Chef’ — on HBO Max.” Gomez advances her cooking skills in the company of master chefs and probably throws in a bit of politics and activism to keep the convo interesting. This news was part of her Vogue Mexico December/January 2021 cover story and also Allure October 2020.

With restaurant industry folks suffering more than most in the pandemic, the world’s top chefs are organizing many online events to raise money for food and restaurant workers who are suffering terribly from job losses during the pandemic. Gomez is actively involved in that effort.
