/Prada CEO Andrea Guerra was smiling last week, flying high on the wings of Prada’s first 1 billion euros revenue quarter in history. “The brand is agile with drops and novelties but also a patient developer of iconic products that are paying off well,” Guerra said in a press announcement.
A prime example of Prada’s iconic products is the Galleria bag, designed and produced in 2007, and named for Miuccia Prada’s grandfather’s first shop in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
The Galleria is beloved because of its signature Saffiano leather. Defined by its loosely crosshatched texture, Saffiano is the product of a patented, hot-pressing process that renders the calf leather scratch- and water-resistant and ready for a long and properous life.
The importance of reimagination is a key component to success in today's fast-changing, visually-dominated global fashion culture. This concept lies at the heart of Prada’s Summer 2023 ‘The Glass Age’ Campaign celebrating Prada’s iconic Galleria handbag.
Hollywood starlet Scarlett Johansson and Venezuelan-American conceptual artist Alex Da Corte collaborate on an unconventional examination of how the Galleria uses the power of color and modern art to connect us to Johansson as both herself and the bag in full emotional color.

/Versace Resort retains Gianni’s ultra-glamour vibe, but Gianni was never disheveled. Vogue expressed the difference between Donatella gritty undercurrent and Gianni’s impeccable glamazon identity by saying:
The quintessential DV look is that of a slightly disheveled, ultra-glamorous party lover—sort of “the morning after the night before.”
The Versace Resort 2023 prints and patterns are just spectacular. This is dopamine dressing on steroids, and it’s wonderful.

Having just bought a modern yellow sofa, I so appreciate another jolt to my visual senses, captured by photographer Lars Bronseth [IG] in Fuerteventura, the second largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, off the north coast of Africa.
I am deadly serious about surrounding myself with color in blooms, furniture, art — everything that matters to me. Even Babacar sends a message on his IG: No fighting!
As our lives are turned inside out on so many levels, I cannot go through life as a black widow, mourning the threatened state of our world and the loss of every personal right we’ve gained in America in the last 50 years.
Republicans want us to trust that only abortion rights are on the line. But we know better. It’s contraception, LGBTQ2+, racial justice, freedom from the government monitoring our every action. I’m such an optimistic person, but between the US Supreme Court Alito draft decision and Putin in Ukraine, I’m shaken to my core.
So thanks Port Magazine and all the designers for a bit of fashion joy so beautifully executed. Call it fashion escapism, but for me it’s a huge vitamin pill for which I am grateful. ~ Anne
