ZARA ATELIER Launches Collection 01_The Coat Lensed by Paolo Roversi
/ZARA launches a new category called ZARA ATELIER, a higher-end collection with its own dedicated design team. Currently planned for two limited-edition collections each year, the ZARA Atelier delivery will focus on an elevated, artistic interpretation of an iconic wardrobe staple.
The six-piece outerwear collection features coats in modern and wearable shapes, made from premium fabrics, with couture details. It includes embroidered coat, patchwork poncho, rosegarden coat, jacquard coat, black shadow coat, and cosmic coat, price range from £259 to £349.
This maiden launch Collection 01_The Coat campaign, shot by revered photographer Paolo Roversi, expresses perfectly Zara’s newly-expressed passion for craftsmanship and artistic expression.
Models in the campaign include Amar Akway, Cara Taylor, Elisa Nijman, Greta Hofer, Raynara Negrine and Yilan Hua. Creative direction by Christophe Derigon.
AOC will dive in further on this new ZARA ATELIER collection after verifying that there’s no concrete sustainability cred in the six coats. We believe that the definition of luxury will soon demand sustainability credentials and not merely a surface aesthetic, which the ZARA ATELIER design team has executed superbly in this debut design statement.
Raising the sustainability issue is core to how we are defining luxury going forward. But in no way are we critiquing this launch with an ounce of negativity. Sometimes, when true excellence is achieved, we must examine it not only within the world of present definitions but rather, as it relates to where we are going. ~ Anne
