Known for its lunar-like landscape and pristine white rocks, Sarakiniko holds a rich and fascinating history that intertwines with the island's intriguing past.
The story of Sarakiniko begins in ancient times when Milos was inhabited by the early Minoans and later became a significant part of the Cycladic civilization.
These ancient inhabitants discovered the rich mineral wealth of Milos, particularly its sulfur and obsidian deposits, which were highly sought after commodities. The exploitation of these resources played a crucial role in shaping the island's destiny and attracting various civilizations over the years.
