Bella Hadid's Futuristic Life Is Marc Jacobs Heavenly, Lensed by Carlijn Jacobs
/Supermodel Bella Hadid returns to the spotlight in Heaven by Marc Jacobs [IG] fall 2023 campaign. The futuristic images with a transmutation undercurrent were lensed by Carlijn Jacobs [IG], with styling by Danielle Emerson.
AOC hopes Bella finally has this awful Lyme disease under control, as it’s caused her even more suffering than people understood.
The Heaven by Marc Jacobs campaign is focused on new ‘Kiki Group’, a group of 2000s-era ready-to-wear and accessories that meld Y2K nostalgia with a dominant futuristic vibe.
Carlijn Jacobs did explore the idea of multiple selves in the recent Kylie Jenner for Acne Studios campaign, as noted by Fashionista. Beyond that fact, the two campaigns are speaking to visually very different imagery and context.
AOC has encouraged creatives to explore this terrain for several years now. With the explosion of AI possibilities upon us, I’d hate to see our best talents shut down after one exploration of a woman’s identity and relationship with herself, followed by a second.
It’s also truth that Carlijn’s images of Kylie are garnering a lot of praise and — let’s see —this one has 2, 951, 012 IG likes. They average 1.2 million.
Many people believe that Jacobs visually amplified Kylie Jenner in a major new way. AOC is in that group.
Bella worked with Carlijn on the Vogue Italia May 2023 AI-exploration fashion story and discussd their shared interest in the new technology. Bella Hadid has a keen intellectual interest in the new technology, because Bella is a thinker.
We have several young and now accomplished photographers with an interest in female psychology, self-identity and marketing to women using layers of visualization.
These creatives can now harness the power of AI as an assistant in producing more layered and complex visual communications. And creating proficiency with the AI technology reverberates back onto old-school fashion shoots as well.
It’s about pushing out our boundaries and yes, blurring the boundaries of painterly art and photography.
Good work, Carlijn and Bella. ~ Anne
