Imaan Hammam Covers Harper's Bazaar France May 2023 by Robin Galiegue

The fabulous Imaan Hammam [IG] covers the May 2023 issue of Harper’s Bazaar France [IG]. This is the third issue of a French edition of Harper’s Bazaar, led by the Prisma presse group, which acquired the licence for France.

Emmanuelle Alt [IG] styled Hammam in images lensed in a variation of black and white by Robin Galiegue [IG]. The former EIC of Vogue France is expected to have a more influential voice at the magazine, as her contractual obligations to Conde Nast expire./ Hair by Lucas A. Wilson; makeup by Christelle Cocquet.

Harper’s Bazaar France is living up to its promise of being a coffee table magazine.

The magazine's editor-in-chief Olivier Lalanne [ex-editor of Vogue Homme and GQ France) is committed to a magazine that speaks to the world with a French accent — with a decidely greater emphasis on the fashion world that lies at the center of Paris.

America is not France, and France is not America, Lalanne explains. As American magazines become more social and political, with less emphasis on fashion, there’s every reason to believe that French and key European luxury brands are more important than ever.

LVMH last week became the first European company to reach $500bn valuation, after reporting a 17% rise in first quarter 2022 sales.

If any media is positioned to tap into the LVMH portfolio, it’s Harper’s Bazaar France.

We assume that — like other cover stories — Imaan Hammam’s fashion editorial will roll out in stages. We will handle it the same way we updated Rianne Von Rompaey’s fashion story throughout the month of April.

Pending any change in plans, Harper’s Bazaar France is scheduled to publish nine issues in 2023, increasing to 10 issues a year.
