‘The Fifth Element’ is considered to be one of the sci-fi classics of the 1990s. The film did very well internationally but didn’t break records in America. The creative merits and substance of the film ‘The Fifth Element’ warranted a sequel, and all agree that the film provided major inspo for Besson’s 2017 ‘Valerian’ with Cara Delevigne.

Delivering a note of fashion trivia Jean Paul Gaultier designed the costumes for the film. Prince was scheduled for a role in ‘Le Cinquieme Element’, but his tour schedule didn’t allow him to break away for filming, leaving him not immortalized in ‘The Fifth Element’.
