Gucci Lunar Year of the Rabbit 2023 Campaign by Max Siedentopf with Emma Pei, Ruiqi Jiang

With the Gregorian calendar’s New Year’s Day upon us in hours, and the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Rabbit ringing in the Lunar New Year on January 22, 2023, Gucci releases a beautiful and without controversy campaign that celebrates two global cultures and also Easter 2023, coming on April 9.

Can we summarize by saying rabbits win — because the rabbit is considered to be the luckiest out of all 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac?

Art Director & Photographer Max Siedentopf [IG] creates the Gucci Year of the Rabbit Campaign with models Emma Pei and Ruiqi Jiang in a larger cast.

I was not aware until today — devoting time to learn — about the full range of Max Siedentopf. Inspiring.

An animal welfare organization, Bureau Veritas [IG], was present on set and verified that no animals were harmed in the making of Gucci’s new ‘Year of the Rabbit’ campaign.

Symbolism of the Rabbit

The rabbit symbolizes mercy, elegance, and beauty. People who are born in the year of the rabbit are calm and peaceful — unlike the daily terrorism of former US president Donald Trump; Elon Musk determined to banish progressives from Twitter; and Kanye West going “death con 3” on Jews.

Rabbits are not committed to the triumph of one group with the death of another one. They come from the “can’t we all get along school”.

AOC is all in on celebrating the Year of the Rabbit — as long as we bring our technology chip manufacturing back to America from China [just sayin’].

Imagine an atmosphere where our values are to be gentle, quiet, elegant and alert — as well as quick, skillful, kind, patient, and very responsible.

A Bit of Rabbit Escape Is Fine

Who cares that rabbits have a tendency to escape reality at times. Unlike their human counterparts, they are not trying to destroy people with ubuntu values [“I am because we are”].

That would be AOC embracing the Nguni Bantu terms — Anne, who could frankly use a little ‘White Rabbit’ music to keep my head on straight right now.

Gratitude to Alessandro Michele

Thank you to perhaps the most soulful creative in fashion — Alessandro Michele, formerly of Gucci. I am certainly one of the people who only recently expressed my understanding of your vision and perspective.

But hey, Alessandro Michele, from one mushroom lover to another, do you know that there is new scientific focus — really thanks to Stella McCartney’s devotion to mushrooms in every aspect — that it’s a very real possibility that ‘magic mushrooms’ are the missing link in human evolution that caused the great leap [still not explained] from the prehuman brain to our own?

Now that is BIG, Alessandro Michele, and you might take up that truth crusade in your next act.

Something happened in rapid succession in evolutionary time as prehumans advanced to present times.

To date the best theory is that humans began eating protein by killing animals, which impacted the brain in a positive way. But a far more interesting theory — now that we are giving mushrooms their due scientifically — is that it’s when humans began eating mushrooms — ALL kinds of mushrooms [also a source of protein] — that our brains really fired up on all cylinders.

Given Stella McCartney’s magnificent heritage, I assume that her parents [and their friends] were very clear with her about the power of mushrooms in the pursuit of enlightenment and human knowledge. This not only about compassion; it’s about knowledge.

Because of Stella, I’ve returned to a view that mushrooms are the cornerstone of most life on planet Earth. LOL, and I take Lions Mane every day.

AOC is off and running as usual, with this wonderful Gucci 2023 Year of the Rabbit campaign. You have NO idea where I’ve travelled in the last hour. Thank you to all who made it happen. ~ Anne
