Deva Cassel, Monica Bellucci Cover Vogue Italia July by Paolo Roversi

Updated w/6 new images. Monica Bellucci and her daughter Deva Cassel are photographed together for the first time, covering the July issue of Vogue Italia. Photographer Paolo Roversi is behind the lens, saying he felt the same emotion photographing Deva, as he felt with Natalia Vodianova and Kate Moss.

Farnetti acknowledges that Devi is 16, which does break the Conde Nast rule of age 18. AOC has passed on sharing other editorial work by Devi over that rule. Kaia Gerber was probably under 18 when she first appeared in Vogue also with mother Cindy Crawford.

Ibrahim Kamara styles the duo in Dolce & Gabbana-rich (Deva has joined her mother in campaigns for the brand since she was 14) with a dash of Michael Kors. European press has commented that the atmosphere of the Roversi images is goth in spite of its lightness, reminding some of an early Monica Bellucci role as a concubine in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 film ‘Dracula’.

Bellucci was decisive in the photo shoot that her daughter was to be the focus — the center of the imagery. The 56-year-old actor is devoted to both her daughters — Devi and younger daughter Leonie. Her relationship with Vincent Cassel, the girls father, ended in 2013.

It’s not the first time that Monica Bellucci has spoken of putting others in the spotlight. For the second time in her career, Bellucci opened the Cannes Festival in 2017, saying ““The light will not be on me, I am there to give light to all the others.”
