Hailey shares her thoughts on beauty with a title that makes her sound needlessly insecure. On a second reading of Hailey Bieber Is Still Learning to Love Herself, her comments aren’t nearly as self-indulgent as the title.

Wealthy white women talking about their beauty and self-image insecurities — especially when they look like Hailey — is not at the top of most people’s want-to-read list these days. Bieber does express this need to be considered beautiful; and she admits also that she then doesn’t take the compliments so graciously.

Just because people tell [me I’m] beautiful? That’s not how I see it, and that’s not how I feel all the time.

Hailey talks to the many women who inspire her from Rosamund Pike to Carey Mulligan to Kamala Harris. She references cutting down tremendously her time on social media — which seems to be a wise decision for so many celebrities. Certainly fashionistas haven’t been kind of Hailey from what I’ve observed. So cutting out the digital canker sores seems like a solid plan for Bieber.
