/AOC is delighted to see Rafael Pavarotti’s [IG] Black beauty fashion story for the September 2024 issue of Perfect Magazine [IG]. With Edward Enninful no longer at British Vogue, Anne has had significant concerns about exactly what happens to fashion stories of this caliber and excellence. More than once in recent years, AOC has said that only brands can afford to underwrite these editorials.
In the case of these exquisite images for Perfect, we can thank Prada, described as ‘Red-Hot’ on the cover in the story styled by George Krakowiak. / Hair by Ali Pirzadeh; makeup by Chiao Li Hsu

/Beloved actor Lupita Nyong’o has not taken up painting. But today’s Harper’s Bazaar UK[IG] November 2024 cover story reminds us that not all fashion photography sets are created equal. Nyong’o covers Bazaar UK’s ‘The Art Issue: a celebration of colour, craftsmanship, pattern and print.’
Photographer Alexi Lubomirski [IG] hits all the high notes in a fashion story styled by Miranda Almond for Chanel’s newest global ambassador.Gorgeous and right on the money in terms of a huge trend emerging.
White Skin Does NOT Reflect God’s Will
Lupita again speaks of the issue of skin color — one we’ve written about many times, along with featuring her mind-changing interview with Alek Wek.
The actor has frequently told the stories of praying to God as a young woman, beseeching the divine to make her skin lighter.
Anne has done a lot of research on this topic and puts a new spin on this set of outrageous Christian beliefs about skin color.

/Sporty & Rich founder Emily Oberg has dropped her new Core Collection, two months after filing a trademark application for a brand called Sensual Sport.
Top model Andreea Diaconu showcases the Core Collection, lensed by Dudi Hasson [IG].
Oberg isn’t selling a sustainability message for Sporty & Rich — although her approach to fashion itself may be more sustainable. But seeing Diaconu reminded me of her 2023 C2C Certified® cashmere campaign for Ralph Lauren. That campaign is very in sync with Oberg’s Sporty & Rich mindset.

Reflections on Nike Knee Pads and Peggy Noonan
Note that we have no tradwives in these images, but many a modern man could have evil thoughts racing through his mind with those Nike knee pads.
Opus Dei needs to banish this fashion story from its very long forbidden-reading list because fashion is a great corruptor of young minds. It’s precisely these kinds of ‘innocent’ images that begin a pure mind’s descent into secular degradation.
Anna Wintour tried to alleviate those Opus Dei concerns about secular contamination of society with her ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ theme of her 2018 Met Gala. Nice try, Anna, but repression got worse.
Today we have Pulitizer-prize winning WSJ columnist Peggy Noonan raging artfully against the decision of presidential candidate Kamala Harris not to attend Archbishop Timothy Dolan’s Al Smith dinner. Anne left a comment juicier than the steak on Dolan’s plate, trying to explain that maybe Harris isn’t in the mood to have a good laugh with the notoriously-jovial archbishop.
Not when maternal death rates are soaring in America and 65% of Catholics support abortion rights, according to Pew Research 2024. No institution in America is more directive in stripping American women of our rights than the Opus Dei right-wing of the Catholic Church with adherents now dominating the US Supreme Court.
Yes, the US Supreme Court is at odds with American Catholics at-large.
Maybe VP Harris doesn’t want to have a jolly good laugh, photographed seated next to the Archbishop on October 17, 2024 and shooting the breeze with her magnificent laugh.
Women are dying in Georgia and Noonan is still attacking Harris trying to deliver some joy to the nation. Just yesterday Anne learned about Noonan’s 2020 obsession with the VP’s laugh — AND dancing. Yup, Harris was dancing and that event also prompted condemnation from Noonan.
Former Senator Claire McCaskill really let Noonan have it on Morning Joe in 2020 [will post the video]. It’s kind of a contradiction when Peggy Noonan herself has a repressed revulsion of darkness — whether she knows it or not.
You would think the writer of some of Reagan’s most genuinely-inspiring speeches would celebrate Harris carrying a Status of Liberty torch out of Trumpism’s hate-filled loathing of democratic principles into the light of positivity.
Nope. Peggy Noonan sees no certifiable joy in Kamala Harris’ very existence. Noonan hasn’t called Kamala a witch yet — although I better search my assumption. But she does believe Harris is a total fraud — an imposter.
Even WSJ men readers are calling Noonan harsh and inaccurate about reality in recent weeks. Anne kept is simple, writing that Peggy Noonan is no Liz Cheney. Too many Republican women are openly supporting Harris for Noonan to be crouching behind the couch but still yelling bad things about Kamala Harris far and wide.
Sorry WSJ Magazine, but you gave Anne too good an opening with those knee pads and a little black dress. I could continue, but will be a good Noonan-vintage, former-Catholic girl and take my foot off the gas pedal.
No need to lose my AOC drivers license a month before the election. Have a good day, everybody. ~ Anne
