Kylie Jenner Covers Vanity Fair Italia March 1, 2023 Lensed by Luigi + Iango

Kylie Jenner Covers Vanity Fair Italia March 1, 2023 Lensed by Luigi + Iango

Kylie Jenner covers Vanity Fair Italia’s March 1, 2023 issue No. 9, styled by Anna Dello Russo in images by Luigi & Iango.

Simone Marchetti, who interviewed Madonna last month, talks topics from business to postpartum depression with Jenner in Kylie Jenner: the secret of K factor.

The Kardashian-Jenners entertained the world, while shaping its customs and habits, writes Matchetti. People can protest all they want about the Kardashians, and they can also turn them off. The fact that they won’t tells us more about them than the K-women, who have made a fortune off our addiction to them.

You don’t find AOC criticizing the Kardashian-Jenner women, because our values say we must criticize their followers at the same time. It’s the followers who are making them rich and famous.

Consider that they probably know more about the human psychology of Americans than any think tank in America. Granted, they are a global brand, but this IS an American story — and we can always turn it off.

Lizzo Is On the Charts with All Systems on Go, Lensed by Campbell Addy for Vanity Fair

Lizzo Is On the Charts with All Systems on Go, Lensed by Campbell Addy for Vanity Fair

We’re late to Lizzo’s November 2022 Vanity Fair US cover story event — and what a reading experience it is. Now that New York’s Governors Ball has announced Lizzo in its 2023 edition June 9-11 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, it’s time we do some serious Lizzo duty.

The uber talent well on her way to becoming a super star is making waves across America, and we’re here for it. Vanity Fair November was a long-interview pit stop with Lisa Robinson and it came with a perfect title: ‘Everything’s coming up Lizzo, and it’s about damn time.

Lizzo was styled by the one and only Patti Wilson, with photography by Campbell Addy [IG].

I’m writing and switching paragraphs around so that this next tough-talking paragraph from her Vanity Fair interview is followed by Lizzo’s 2021 TEDMonterey Talk.

If you are a white woman who thinks she sounds a little bit too hostile in her VF interview, consider her flute playing at the Library of Congress on September 26.

I am so disturbed over what happened, I probably would have gone to jail.

Fashion editors Michael Philouze and Marcus Chang styled the cast.

Images from the shoot will be part of a Sept. exhibition by Luigi & Iango at the Palazzo Reale Museum in Milan.

Madonna and Religion

As society, are we moving on from that [patriarchal] world?
We definitely are not moving on, we are moving backwards. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be having discussions on whether or not women are allowed to make choices over their bodies in America.

Are you a pessimist?
I have to be optimistic otherwise I don’t know how I could go on.

Note that is the identical viewpoint expressed by Natalie Portman in our Miss Dior fragrance post yesterday. I do believe, however, that we must take a new approach.

Olivia Wilde by Emma Summerton for Vanity Fair US Stands Firm on 'Don't Worry Darling'

Actor/director Olivia Wilde has received mixed reviews on her delivery of ‘Don’t Worry Darling’. The movie starring Florence Pugh, is set in Trumpian-style, 50’s domesticity — a bit of “The Stepford Wives,” a whole lot of “Mad Men” said reviews.

“No amount of internet bullying can cause me to question my belief in a movie made collectively by so many brilliant people. We worked too hard, and went through too much together, to be derailed by something that really has nothing to do with filmmaking.”

Dani Witt in Rome by Stefania Paparelli for Vanity Fair Italia June 2021

Dani Witt in Rome by Stefania Paparelli for Vanity Fair Italia June 2021

Model Dani Witt is styled by Simone Guidarelli in ‘Amore Senza Fine’ [Endless Love] a fashion tribute to Rome. Photographer Stefania Paparelli [IG] captures the virginal sensuality embedded in the psychological complexity of Rome — a city I love deeply — for Vanity Fair Italia June 2021.

Editorials like this one always inspire my reading for the week. The rise of conquering Rome — the ultimate patriarchal society — came at a great cost to women generally, who were living in the region. It’s possible to track the devolution of women’s status and power in Greece, as evidenced by the writings of Socrates, then Plato and next Aristotle. Rome is more cut and dried. Men ruled.

‘We have not kept our women individually under control, we now dread them collectively’, said Cato the Elder, as women took to the streets to protest unfair laws.
