Angela Ahrendts Joining SKKY Partners Is Big Kim Kardashian News
/When fashion industry powerhouse Dame Angela Ahrendts left her position as senior vice president of retail at Apple Inc in 2019, people were shocked. Apple just does not lose senior executives. While i-Phone sales were under major stress in 2019, the retail stores performance was spectacular.
Ahrendts created her business success potion at Burberry before Apple, where she sat in the C-Suite as CEO. Writing about her appointment, WSJ says that sales more than tripled during her tenure as CEO, and share price quadrupled.
Visiting Ahrendts’ IG, we learn that in a March 2022 episode of ‘New Human Movement’, authors Gary Hamel and Michele Zanini probed Ahrendts’ brain, discussing how leadership needs to be reimagined for a new age. Note that not only reformed leadership is part of this business superstar’s purview. In her own words:
“Our conversation is part of a series on reimagining work, management and capitalism for a new age. “
I was both stunned and impressed a few weeks ago, when I learned that Khloe Kardashian’s Good American brand, co-owned with Emma Grede, is a B-corp.
AOC has never underestimated the Kardashian-Jenner women, but B-Corps are for leaders like Angelina Jolie and Gabriela Hearst.
Taking a quick look at other Ahrendts’ videos on capitalism and leadership, her decision to join Kim Kardashian’s private-equity firm is a stunning and inspiring score for SKKY Partners.
Kardashian formed SKKY in summer 2022, joining forces with longtime Carlyle Group consumer head Jay Sammons.
Ahrendts’ primary role with SKKY will focus on identifying and assessing high-potential brands; determining if and how SKKY can add value to them; and to coach and mentor the companies in which SKKY invests for its portfolio.
“There are rare times in life when you meet people whose vision and mission and values are just so aligned to yours and then you feel collectively that you really can do something different,” Kim Kardashian said about Angela Ahrendts to WSJ.
In her role as senior operating adviser at SKKY Partners, Ahrendts will join the first operating adviser Kris Jenner.
