Kim Kardashian returns to Marc Jacobs [IG] for a 2023/4 resort collection launch, bringing her platinum Rapunzel tresses with her. Kim also appeared in the fall 2023 campaign.
Whether this was a special request from Jacobs, we don’t know. But with silvery and white sparkle inflused throughout the collection, platinum suits the campaign DNA.
Tyrone Lebon is behind the lens, capturing Kim’s shimmering silver corset top and silvery gray embossed stipe jeans against a latex backdrop by LA-based studio Playlab. Alastair McKimm styles the shoot, adding the Marc Jacobs Tote Bag and iconic updated-Stam bag to Kim’s fashion statements.
Kardashian’s self-discipline leaves us incredulous, being an engaged mom to four kids, an entrepreneur and businesswoman in multiple enterprises, a lawyer in training with a focus on prison-reform and wrongly-imprisoned people, and a committed gym-rat who works out two hours a day.
Yes, Kim has help. But AOC doesn’t know anyone more efficient and focused on goals than Kim Kardashian. And we’ve got some supersmart women, who come to mind — Tory Burch and Maria Grazia Chiuri — to name two powerhouses.
Some of the best people in fashion and retail — Angela Ahrendts, former CEO of Burberry and EVP of Apple Retail, for example — are on KK’s team today. In Ahrendts’ case, it’s with SKKY Partners investment fund. KK is clearly now attracting some of the very best talent, which only strengthens her hand.
On the one hand, Kim’s touch is everywhere but her management partnerships now cross two-three other Kardashian-Jenner businesses including Kylie’s new Khy apparel brand. Clearly this lean marketing machine has very smart generals in charge and they are leveraged broadly through the enterprises, infusing other businesses with their learnings and business savvy.
Kim operates like a true leader who gives major latitude to these people, who also own parts of the businesses. Kardashian is the front person, but her partners are also heavyweights.
If this was a guy with Kim’s talents, he wouldn’t get any of the Kardashian jokes. She doesn’t care. Call it no-distractions, no-responses because the Jenner-Kardashian women know their value.
