Grownup Gail Porter Recreates FHM Parliament Photo
/Brit Gail Porter’s recreation of her FHM pose to mark her 40th birthday is the kind of spunk I like to see in a woman.
Gail Porter became famous 11 years ago when her cheeky image was beamed on to the British Houses of Parliament as a publicity stunt for FHM magazine.
Since then Gail has become a mom and also gained a few pounds. In advance of her 40th birthday, it’s fight-back time and we applaud her spirit.
The message Gail Porter is sending today is that she’ happy in her own skin, so happy that she’s posed nude for NOW magazine. The infamous actress and TV host admits to a sagging derriere and weight gain, which is why she’s back in the gym and on a healthy diet, shedding a stone (about 14 pounds) so far.
‘I’ve got a lovely boyfriend who likes me whatever I look like and my daughter Honey is at an age where she just thinks it’s funny that Mummy’s getting her bum out.
‘I’ll be 40 next year and this is probably the last chance I’ll have to get my backside out in public without getting arrested. via Daily Mail
Nada to that idea, Gail. Keep up the lunges and squats and we’ll see you at 60.
Making peace with her derriere is a generally challenging relationship for most women. I would know. My own self-photography project and finally having my own derriere photographed by a professional sounds like a narcissistic indulgence, but in fact it was a liberating experience that made me a far better person.
Every woman should get a good mirror, pick up the digital camera and go to work on herself.
In a separate article Gail Porter shares a glimpse of her new eating habits, which mirror my own for the last decade. Enjoy. Anne
It may be coincidence that this Gail Porter story is moving the day we’re writing about Wonderbum dresses. Perhaps another way of looking at porter’s story is in her evolution from a nectarine to a potato. Note, we would NEVER call a woman a potato shape. This must be a British fish and chips sort of approach to fashion.
