Dior Ambassadors Haerin, Julia de Nunez and Xin Lu for Dior Rose des Vents Jewelry
/Dior Rose des Vents Jewelry is a collection of luxurious and intricate jewelry pieces created Victoire de Castellane, creative director of Dior Joaillerie for 23 years.
Inspired by the idea of a compass, the collection features delicate roses and ornate medallions adorned with diamonds, pearls, and other precious gemstones.
The July 2023 campaign features three Dior ambassadors Haerin, of NewJeans South Korean girl group formed in 2022; Franco-Argentine actor Julia de Nunez, and Chinese musician Xin Lu. Photographer Tyler Mitchell [IG] is behind the lens for Dior Joaillerie.
The ‘Rose des Vents’ line is illuminated by an eight-pointed wind rose that alludes to both Monsieur Dior’s lucky star and the compass decorations at his seaside childhood home.
The pendant can be worn as a necklace or attached to bracelets or earrings, allowing for versatile styling options. The designs often incorporate elements of nature, such as flowers, stars, and celestial motifs, adding a touch of whimsy to the collection.
Above, Xin Lu reminds us that the collection is boldly modern with countless design interpretations decided by the wearer. The distinctive form of Xin Lu’s DiorTribales earring meets the talismanic symbolism of the ‘Rose des Vents’ medallion. Available in yellow or rose gold, and twinkling with white diamond accents, they make a strong statement alone or as a duo, matched or asymmetrical, with the wind rose or the ornamental stone or pavé side facing out, creating a wealth of fascinating possibilities.
Below, Julia de Nunez discovers the versatility of the DiorTribales earrings. In a choice of yellow or rose gold, they can be worn solo or as a pair, matched or mismatched, with wind rose or ornamental stone side facing out.
Below Haerin wears the newly introduced ‘Tribales Rose des Vents’ earrings in rose gold, diamonds and pink opal. Julia wears double earrings combining the talismanic wind rose motif in gold with twinkling white diamonds and ornamental stones including onyx, malachite and mother-of-pearl.
Dior Joaillerie peppers their IG with images of the artisans making the ‘Rose des Vents’ pieces. These images exist to involve us in the process of making fine jewelry, contrasting it with cheaper, more formulaic mass-produced jewelry.
The LVMH brands like Bulgari, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co all emphasize their provenance and artisanship in their jewelry collections, as supporting artisans is a consumer value of increasing importance to buyers.
