Cherokee Jack for Polo Ralph Lauren Spring 2023 Country Workwear by Sharif Hamza
/Rising [star] model Cherokee Jack appears in Polo Ralph Lauren ads, lensed by Sharif Hamza [IG]. The country clothes include denim, workshirts and timeless outerwear — “made to be worn and made to last.”
Some or all of the collection are produced in partnership with The New Denim Project an innovative textile group based in Guatemala.
Finely crafted from upcycled materials, this denim collection is designed to reduce the use of virgin cotton by incorporating cloth scraps into new yarns and fabrics.
AOC repeats, we are not saying that all Polo Denim is now associated with this exciting, state-of-the-art, circularity denim project.
On the New Denim Project website, we see the Polo x FEED Tote Bag, developed by Lauren Bush Lauren, wife of David Lauren. He is Chief Innovation Officer, Strategic Advisor to the CEO, Head of the Ralph Lauren Foundation and Vice Chairman of the Board.
The entire FEED project developed by the mom of three is to feed hungry people in America and globally.
Returning to Cherokee Jack, on his IG, he notes the first images that I saw of him: the Richard Phibbs photo shoot for Man of Metropolis.
The images stopped me cold in my tracks, causing what remains for me a profound reflection on America’s indigenous peoples’ history. I really have not been the same human since writing my response to those images and the personal history they unlocked.
Cherokee Jack wrote on his IG [and I am certain we all can understand his sentiments]:
