Andreas Ortner Flashes Natural Menswear Style for ELLE Germany's Sustainability Issue

Model Kim Van der Laan is styled by Pia Leonie Knoll in tailored, menswear-inspired separates featured in ELLE Germany’s Sustainability issue.

AOC has tried hard to verify the designers and —more importantly — are we looking at sustainable clothes in this fashion story? ELLE Germany’s last Twitter post is 2017 — and we’re striking out everywhere in our research. Instagram is about Christmas.

If photographer Andreas Ortner [IG] has captured sustainable clothes for ELLE Germany — especially ones made of the emerging citrus-based fabrics including oranges — we would love to share the facts and fashion labels.

Vogue India updated readers in mid March about organge-peel innovations, including H&M’s use of citrus fabrics in an earlier Conscious collection. Orange Fiber brand on Instagram has some recent updates.

AOC has same question about Sigi Kumpfmueller’s [IG] beauty treatment. No news today on whether her beauty applications (the specific images aren’t there at all) that are nature-inspired are sustainable or not.

So these Grade-A images may have a powerful story behind them, but we can’t find any leads. AOC understands that this is an evolving topic, but it’s difficult when we invest 20 - 30 minutes + trying to track down the sustainability facts in a Sustainability issue and find nothing. If we missed an editor’s letter on ELLE Germany, so sorry. FB is a strike out, too.
