Breaking News Jan. 29, 2020

The world of retail had critical breaking news Wednesday morning that Les Wexner, founder of Victoria’s Secret — and the man who hired me — is in talks to step down as CEO of VS parent company L Brands. The news broke in the Wall Street Journal.

As profit margins shrink and same store sales continue to fall, a new concern is Wexner’s L Brands being able to service its $1.8 billion debt load. Without a miracle ahead, banktruptcy looms at some point in the future. This is what mismanagement and male ego can do to the worlds greatest lingerie brand

I said “sell” about 90-120 days ago. It was a few months ago that I realized that my own influence with Les — who thought I was brilliant — waned with the rise of Jeffrey Epstein as his chief adviser. Ed Razek and Epstein diminished my own stellar VS vision in Les’ eyes.

Wexner’s total support for advancing women as his executives and listening to us as the voice of American women ended with the rise of Jeffrey Epstein in his life.

Epstein and Razek together killed everything VS stood for. Many VS past execs talk off the record about the same experience, confirming that Les only listened to these two (dirty old) men and not to them. I do not know what happened to this incredible retail genius Les Wexner, who is cooperating with the feds in every way in their investigation of Epstein’s financial abuse of the Wexner Foundation and the potential sex trafficking of Victoria’s Secret models.

I have a theory but it in no way involves Les Wexner and sex with young women. There is no way imo.

To the smallest detail, I told Les that driving a wedge between our devoted customers with Angels and wings and Las Vegas fashion shows and Wall Street jocks with their tongues hanging out to chill with gorgeous, sexy women would totally redefine the precious relationship between Victoria’s Secret and American women. It gives me no satisfaction to say “I told you so” in this sad situation.

Forbes summarizes the current financial situation of VS, which had a 2019 holiday sales decline of 12%.

Key background: Shares of Victoria’s Secret parent company L Brands fell 29% last year, compared to the S&P 500’s almost 30% positive return. . . . L Brands’ current market value sits below $6 billion, compared to its 2015 peak of $29 billion. Wexner is the company’s largest shareholder with around a 17% stake, according to the latest filings.

I just experienced the saddest moment of my Victoria’s Secret history with a headline in the Neo-Nazi, White Nationalist Daily Stormer website from 3 days ago. OMG! It reads ‘Jew Les Wexner Covering Up for Jew Jeffrey Epstein.” It’s Google entry #1 in a search for Wexner + Epstein update for the last month.

Oh, Les Wexner. What have you — the most inspiring, talented man I ever worked for — wrought here! This is so sad in every aspect. ~ Anne
