Shanghai born and raised, Chinese super star actor and model Du Juan graces the February 2022 cover of Vogue China. Du Juan gives a subtle nod to the Beijing 2022 Olympics Winter games launching Friday, February 4. The games will be held across three times zones in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou.
This cover is Du Juan’s 17th for Vogue China, where she again evokes “her signature elegant exterior with an underlying steely resolve.”
IMG calls Du Juan the most prominent face of Vogue China, including the inaugural issue where she appeared with Gemma Ward, and at least one editorial in each issue since its launch in September 2005.
In 2005, Du Juan became the first Asian model to grace the cover of French Vogue. AOC believes that she remains the only East Asian model to cover Vogue Paris in almost 20 years.

Indeed, her long-time friend and champion, the late and legendary fashion designer Alber Elbaz, said of enigmatic powerhouse, “She has a timeless beauty with this calm disposition, this grace and lightness. She looks very soft, but her heart is very strong. This mysterious contrast makes her fascinating to people.”
Du Juan’s stellar career in front of the camera is just as much a shining example of perseverance and pushing oneself outside of one’s comfort zone, as it is about staying true to oneself and going with the flow. “Everything I’ve done, I complete the task or project and move on – move forward,” she told the VOGUE team on set of our February cover shoot. “I have nothing to prove. All I can be is the best version of myself.”
Words we can all live by.
