Kendall Jenner speaks to finally feeling that she has the upper hand in how she is presented for a fashion editorial of ad campaign. In the beginning of her career, Kendall literally had none. And she entered fashion world with a bullseye on her back. These are AOC’s words, not Jenner’s.
From our pov, few models have endured such overt criticism, bordering on hatred from social media and even in fashion forms, as Kendall Jenner. Kendall doesn’t speak directly to this criticism, but we learn one detail from her youngest days on The Kardashians reality TV show.
In the second season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloe Kardashian gives a “period talk” to a thirteen-year old Kendall Jenner. The lessons includes complete a demonstration of a tampon blooming in a glass of water as the camera zooms in on Kendall’s face. Anyone who remembers period discussions at age 13 can relate to Kendall literally wanting to crawl into a hole where no one could see her.

And then — in an effort to make Kendall feel better, when all she wanted to do was NOT be on TV — her sisters played Kendall’s being born video for all the world to watch. “One of the top comments on this video on YouTube is “I literally can’t get over the fact that I just saw Kendall Jenner coming out of the womb,” wrote a top commenter on YouTube.
No wonder Kendall Jenner keeps a totally private diary that no one is permitted to read. It’s under lock and key, writes Chelsea Hodson in her interview Kendall Jenner is learning to regain her privacy.
Kendall’s nude image is ‘breaking the Internet’ and some people are asking Instagram to explain the rules. AOC isn’t interested in that part of the interview’s story. But she does introduce a concept we’re not familiar with — without explaining why ‘sound baths’ have been beneficial in reducing her anxiety. Harper’s Bazaar has an in-depth article from 2020 on sound baths.
As BuzzFeed noted in summer 2021, Kendall Jenner will never live down the 2017 Pepsi commercial. Granted, the imagery was tone-deaf and naive, but I’m willing to bet these same people have more outrage for Kendall Jenner than for Vladimir Putin, as he rolls through Ukraine.
Offering a peace gesture to a cop in the middle of a demonstration sent the Internet crazy. Putin threatening to launch nuclear missiles against Europe and America — while seeking to rip a young democracy out of the hands of Ukraine’s citizens — not so much.
Kendall’s a 10 on the outrage scale; Putin’s a 4. Also, it’s not as if Kendall Jenner wrote the Pepsi script. Modeling history is FULL of shoots that the model found distasteful.

It’s good to know, though, that Kendall Jenner doesn’t care today, if you like the books she is reading — or anything else about the woman. Her reading books vs your trolling her titles no longer makes her feel like that 13-year-old girl learning about periods with the whole world was watching the closeup of her face.
For those who say Kendall Jenner has zero talent, AOC notes her Forbes estimated $40 million income in 2021, making her the highest-paid model. Not bad, for a California girl with zero talent, according to those fashion-forum, hyper-opinionated, underemployed know-nothings. ~ Anne
