The Effect of SI Body Paint Girls on Male Brains

For starters, I apologize for being totally remiss in not posting material about the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m OK on the subject of men’s desires (and women’s, too) to enjoy a bit of visual inspiration from gorgeous, sexy women.

I’ve expressed concern about brokers and their elevated levels of testosterone-infused stock trading, calling for more females on Wall Steet to give some estrogen balance to the financial markets.

Porn on iPhones will only fuel this reckless decision-making further, but for now, it’s just one more problem on the list of America’s economic woes. If you think about the situation, bidding up stocks that are undervalued by 50-80% might not be such a bad idea.

So bring on the babes!

Reality Check

On the subject of male brains, this article in yesterday’s Guardian UK is not so ooh-la-la. It claims that men tend to think of women as sex objects, immediately after seeing sexy pics of women.

I suppose this is not complicated research. Not only are men predisposed to reckless decision-making, due to the dopamine surge is seeing a nearly naked woman, brain scans confirmed that the areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated.

In a corollary piece of research in this project, researcher Susan fiske, a psychologist at Princeton University, asked the men to access how sexist they were. The brain scans showed that men who scored highest had very little activity in the prefrontal cortex and other brain regions that are involved with understanding another person’s feelings and intentions. “They’re reacting to these women as if they’re not fully human,” Fiske said.

I’m starting to feel like we need a designated driver here, and I’m irresponsible for sharing a body paint photo from the SI Swimsuit issue. But today’s objectives are short-sighted and confined to the stock market.
