Cougar Capitalism, Mama Grizzlies and the Vatican Boys Club

The NYTimes women were out in full-force over the weekend.

University of Massachusetts at Amherst professor Nancy Folbre asks if “Another World Is Possible”, introducing readers to the World Social Forum, an event that exists in opposition to the World Economic Forum, that annual gathering of the global power elite in Davos, Switzerland.

Interest in the contrasts of both economic perspectives, will surely gain traction in our global economic meltdown. 

As Folbre points out in an earlier article Cougar Capitalism, successful women like Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina haven’t exactly rewritten the rule book for women’s economic independence. 

Don’t Believe the Cougar Capitalists

Based on Modern values, Cougar Capitalism says “be patient and you, too, will see the promised land.” Losing faith in most major institutions world-wide, the little people are saying “oh, really?”

Mind you, SS girls don’t run around the world in sneakers — unless you’re Helena Christensen selling fast-talking shoes for Reebok or modeling for Erdun, her best gal pal Ali Hewson’s Edun brand.

Married to Bono, and funded now by Bernard Arnault, Smart Sensuality women Christensen and Hewson aren’t hatching a communist plot. We’re all about a warmer brand of capitalism.

Vatican Boys Club Update

Not even the Catholic Church can save us, being stuck in the mud in its own moral morass of thinking that the boys club exists to boss around little women.

Not only does the clergy have a prurient purpose in protecting us from naked Reebok ladies, They seek to protect us from ourselves — ladies that is.

Maureen Dowd picks up the ball, as we knew she would. 

Men are pretty much free to Rome as they please, until they molest a child or unwilling supplicant. In that case, they enter into a state of “situational penance”. Nice going, Ms Dowd. 

It’s the little ladies that need monitoring in advance.

Stupefyingly, the new Vatican document also links raping children with ordaining women as priests, deeming both “graviora delicta,” or grave offenses. Clerics who attempt to ordain women can now be defrocked. via NYTimes

Forget the fact that science has determined that human sperm are 600 million years old.

The Pope and his intellectual elite say the Bible reads “no women priests”, and the good book stands. That book also says that God made Eve from Adam’s rib.

At the risk of being controversial, we wish to point out a major conflict between science, Genesis and the men who wrote the good book.

Like old roosters who insist on bossing hens around, at the risk of evolutionary success in protecting the future of the species, the old Vatican guys doing things by the book may be ignoring the facts of human existence. 

We call on the Vatican to launch an investigation into the faulty nature of the science. Now!

We will give the Vatican the benefit of the doubt, but we want them to officially challenge the science that says sperm lived 600 million years ago, because it’s in direct contradiction to Genesis. 

We understand margin of error, but this variance in the beginning of life is beyond belief, even among fundamentalist and the orthodox.

Genesis is either true or not. If you’re going equate female priests with sex abuse — saying that the Bible rules all —  then defend your facts. Far and wide, women and the men who love us are finally waking up to the truth about the Vatican patriarchy and fundamentalism worldwide.

Religion exists to manage women as job numero uno. As I wrote on Facebook last Friday, you can take my scarlet letter and hang it on the Pope’s bedroom wall, and I write it here today.

Calling All Truth-Seeking Mama Grizzlies

Once again — please, please Sarah Palin — don’t send the mama grizzlies after us, unless you’re ready to fight for truth. After all, we’re sisters, Sarah.

You want to be real 21st century feminists and join us? Then get in the factual ballgame, mama grizzlies. The future of the world isn’t all about feelings and common sense, as you put it. Let’s take on the patriarchy, once and for all. Anne
