Charlize Theron Speaks About Sean Penn
Charlize Theron talked more than previously about her breakup with Sean Penn in her recent WSJ April 2016 interview. The bombshell denied that she had 'ghosted' Penn, ending their engagement by refusing to take his calls.
"There is a need to sensationalize things," the Mad Max: Fury Road star told WSJ. "When you leave a relationship there has to be some f*cking crazy story or some crazy drama. And the f*cking ghosting thing, like literally, I still don't even know what it is. It's just its own beast."
"We were in a relationship and then it didn't work anymore. And we both decided to separate. That's it," Theron explained. Stories that Sean Penn was soing to adopt her four-year-old son Jackson were not true, and Penn wasn't part of the proceedings around her adoption of daughter August shortly after the breakup.
The South African founder of Africa Outreach Project complimented Sean Penn about his relationship with Jackson.
"There was an understanding that I was a single mom with a very young boy who I had to put in a situation where he understood that Mommy dates, but that he does not have a father," she said. "You have to be very careful and very honest about that stuff. And Sean was great with all of that."
