THEN: Supermodel Naomi Campbell covered the March 2019 issue of British Vogue, her first under Edward Enninful as editor-in-chief.

Enninful set a historic milestone in 2017 as Condé Nast’s Vogue’s first male editor for any Vogue in its then 101-years history. Edward was well-known — and well-regarded —in the fashion industry.

His comitment to expanding diversity in our global fashion industry, was front and center in his goals, when Enninful arrived at British Vogue as a top stylist [and former model] with superb work in his portfolio.

Fast forward to this 2019 British Vogue cover story with supermodel Naomi Campbell, where Edward shared his thoughts.

“Of course, the photographer had to be Steven Meisel. When Naomi works with Meisel, she practically becomes a teenager again, shy and focused, and so it proved during our two-day shoot in New York together at the tail end of last year. They know each other so well that they don’t really need words. Dancers came in, Kendrick Sampson (an actor and activist we both admire) played the role of her lover, and even her driver was pulled in to orbit around her. I hope you enjoy the result. It is the story of a real woman – and a genuine icon. “

NOW: Edward Enninful is entering a new chapter, having stepped away in late December 2023 from his role as EIC at British Vogue and overseeing European content in other Vogues owned by Condé Nast.

Edward remains in a consulting role for special projects in all Vogues. He has signed with WME [William Morris Endeavor] for representation in advancing his Creative Visions. Enninful continues to be repped for Business Affairs by Tahir Basheer and Chris Paget at Sheridans, confirmed Variety
