Emily Ratajkowski by Zoey Grossman in Superga® Spring 2022 Campaign
/Superga® announces its Spring/Summer 2022 advertising campaign and collaboration with Emily Ratajkowski, the brand’s newest ambassador. The Italian brand chose the London-born, San Diego-raised by her American parents, women’s rights activist, entrepreneur, author and more model because she has long worn the brand to castings and model shoots.
Ratajkowski is now the mother of a young son Sylvester Apollo Bear, welcomed to the world in October 2021, with husband Sebastian Bear-McClard.
Zoey Grossman [IG] , who is also a new mom with husband Robert Schwartzman, photographed the Superga campaign. On Valentine’s Day, Zoey shared a picture of what “carrying twins looks like.”
During the design process, Emily focused on Superga® 2750, a style that was conceived as the first Italian tennis shoe over 100 years ago by the owner of the brand and the Alpina, known for trekking back in the 50s.
Emily’s friend Hailey Bieber focused on the Superga® 2750, photographed in August 2021, at the tennis court, again by Zoey Grossman. Read Hailey Bieber's Sustainable Superga Fall-Winter 2021 Sneakers by Zoey Grossman
Because Anne of Carversville is very committed to promoting sustainability values, we dug deeply into the history of Superga® in the August article. The brand doesn’t have even a 3-rating rating on the website Good On You, which is important when people are searching for sustainable products. But H&M does have a 3-rating.
I repeat that AOC makes no claim that we are experts on sustainability ratings. Good On You towers over our writing. But I did subscribe to their newsletter and was shocked at how ‘political’ the rating appeared to be — in my own ignorant interpretation of how to evaluate a brand’s sustainability efforts.
Writing in-depth on both brands — Superga and H&M — they seem to be equivalently aware and trying to do something about sustainability challenges. Based on our research of information on both websites — and the criteria GOY professes to use, Superga deserves a higher rating if H&M has a 3 on Good On You..
Of course, H&M is much bigger. See our April 6 feature on H&M’s latest sustainability efforts: H&M Innovation Stories 'Cherish Waste' Collection Launches April 21 Lensed by Rafael Pavarotti.
The campaign was shot in Los Angeles at in January 2022. With Grossman behind the lens, stylist Emma Morrison styled the shoot.
