The iconic Baywatch star is reclaiming her narrative with a late career rebirth, starring in Gia Coppola’s ‘The Last Showgirl’.

When the Oscars Academy Award nominations came this week, Anderson’s name was missing, along with the entire ‘The Last Showgirl’ movie, cast, crew and director Gia Coppola. Last Showgirl was on a running streak based on Anderson’s lead actress nominations for the Golden Globes, Gotham Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Doing the Work

Anderson insists she wasn’t holding her breath for a nod. “Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win,” she told ELLE.com hours after the Oscars announcements. “That’s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus.”

The former ‘Baywatch’ star has been tearing up the digital airwaves for some time now, after her life and former relationship with Tommy Lee were portrayed in a “hurtful” way in Hulu’s ‘Pam & Tommy’ series in 2022. “It happened, and now I’m here, and this is the best payback,” writes ELLE.

One Dame, Now Two

Next, as the ELLE.com headlines confirm, one of the most inspiring ‘older’ women out there — when we’re scoring on intelligence and wit, business savvy, beauty and raw, natural sensuality — Martha Stewart enters the convo for Pamela Anderson Gets Her Flowers from Martha Stewart.

The two dames discuss bread and Anderson’s great sourdough starter . . . it has a name . . . ‘Astrid Viking Warrior Princess’.

In this scalding cauldron of enhanced female power, Anderson and Stewart share stories of the older-woman comeback story.

But wait. We read a narrative that so many women can relate to. In recent years, Pamela Anderson took charge of her own rebirth.

She presented her own life story on Netflix. The Playbook sex symbol took to not wearing makeup and campaigning for environmental causes. What could go wrong?

Moving Beyond Pamela’s Pickles

A year later, Coppola could have found Anderson at home pickling brine in Vancouver Island, seriously contemplating starting a business called Pamela’s Pickles.

Trying to reach the aging star by more traditional means — phone, email, perhaps a DM or two or a registered letter — the director failed.

It was Pamela Anderson’s son Brandon, an actor and producer himself, who handed her the script for ‘The Last Showgirl’, following Coppola’s failed attempts to get a response from her. In moment of the narrative, Martha and Pamela hook up for the first time in left, except for pleasant nods on red carpets.

Martha takes charge, of course. At age 83 and gloriously beautiful, Martha is easily old enough to be Pamela’ mother. Anderson is 57 years old. Just back away for a moment and think about these women easily being viewed as ‘washed up’ in American culture.

Within minutes Martha is directing Anderson on the need to install a Pilates machine in her house. To know Martha is to love Martha. And Anne does. To read the entire interview, follow the link next to the sourdough bread starter quote.
