Photographer Elizaveta Porodina [IG] brings her trademark — but very expansive — artistic vision to Vogue Germany [IG] July-August 2026 issue. Actor Mala Emde wears Dior on the cover, styled by Jeannie Annan-Lewin [IG] a contributing fashion editor on British Vogue.

The issue’s cover theme ‘The Women We Are’ probes a profound question for today’s women. Not having read the multiple Vogue issues carrying this theme and presumably Porodina’s fashion story, AOC can’t speak to what the words mean — and for good reason.

Dobbs v. Jackson June 24, 2022

Porodina’s story is posted on Anne of Carversville on the fourth anniversary of the June 24, 2022 US Supreme Court decision Dobbs v. Jackson overturning Roe v. Wade, the landmark case that gave American women a constitutional right to an abortion.

It’s all a very serious situation for women in America under the Trump administration. Porodina’s images are so beautiful, i’ll not layer them up with politics.

Anne has learned to appreciate the small joys under this administration. And this fashion editorial from Vogue Germany July-August 2026 is one of them. I wrote a terrific article, but I just couldn’t do detract from her artistry in that way. It will be posted, just not in my usual way.
