Filip Koludrovic and Jovanna Krneta in 'Kosmos' for Numéro Netherlands Online

Photographer Filip Koludrovic (IG) met with model and artist illustrator Jovanna Krneta (IG) late in 2020 in an abandoned Belgrade factory. As Koludrovic notes — and AOC mentions with frequency — the best photography becomes an energy exchange between the model and the photographer. Numéro Netherlands publishes the artistic result.

I would stipulate that the creative dynamic isn’t only about the energy that the model brings to the set. Much of the energy exchange is determined about how the model feels about the photographer. That may be predetermined, or it may be spontaneous.

Are they equals on the set or is s(he) just a mannequin? Is s(he) the photographer being voyeuristic about the shoot and the model? Is there a pre-determined script going on in the photographer’s mind of how the shoot will play out, or is the model free to be responsive to the vibes in the room?

What outside energy and expectations did model and photographer bring to the shoot that have nothing to do with each other? Are they able to leave those predetermining factors outside the door of the creative studio in order to channel each other?

The two artists share the creation of this beauty shoot from their individual perspectives. Note that there are additional images from the shoot at Numero Netherlands online. Beauty by Dragan Vurdelja (@drvurdelja). Editor Timotej Letonja

Filip Koludrovic:

For this project we decided to form a dialog, a two way flow between the photographer and the model. It's extremely important what the model will bring on set with their energy. Knowing Jovana and her art the idea came to let me document that day with my camera, and after she was to document her experience through her drawings.

Jovana Krneta:

Fashion supports art. My incide world speaks through my body the same way as throughout my drawings. How I see the world from a model's point of view is connected with the lens of the camera and photographer himself. It’s all connected, it’s all one, like the universe.
