Victoria’s Secret Angel Martha Hunt headlines PINKO’s Spring Summer 2019 ‘Rock ‘N’ Shine’ ad campaign, lensed by Simone Falcetta.
“She is determined and curious, she believes in kindness and that the only way to highlight what she wears is to wear it with total ease and self-confidence. Martha Hunt is the perfect representation of the PINKO woman in the Spring Summer 2019 campaign: an allusion to the ‘80s beauty of glam-rock icon Jerry Hall. Martha’s personality intertwines naturally with the new PINKO collection: feminine, sensual, unexpected, always self-confident and with a gaze straight toward the future. The Spring Summer 2019 season presents an eclectic, sophisticated wardrobe, made up of garments to wear with ease and to mix boldly, iconic pieces for a woman with an instinctive and spontaneous elegance.“

Vogue Italy launches our online week with a stunning series of images ‘The Architecture of Hair’ by Honduras-born, New York based photographer Ricardo Rivera. His work work was recently displayed in the October 2018 Photo Vogue Festival ‘Embracing Diversity Exhibition’ in Milan. The images feature models Awar Mou @ Red Model Management and Lisa Verberght @ Elite Model Management, styled by Lisa Jarvis.
It all started with hair. This series ‘The Architecture of Hair’ was a close collaboration between Rivera and hair stylist Erol Karadag imagining architectural and structured hairstyles using not so conventional materials like resin, sewing pins, and fruit nets. Influenced by everyday visuals in his tropical home country, scenes of outside markets are inspirational in DNA in Rivera’s image-making. This context inspires him to incorporate objects such as flowers and fruit and clothing that also highlighted the sculptural and colorful nature of the hairstyles into these images.
Danish model and Victoria’s Secret Angel Josephine Skriver covers the March 2019 issue of FASHION Magazine, styled by Anna Katsanis. Kar Irlin captures Skriver in ‘The Female Gaze’ as a Mugler Amazon wearing new and archival designs from the fashion house that helped define bold, female-empowerment dressing.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell covers the March 2019 issue of British Vogue, her first under Edward Enninful’s role as editor-in-chief. Sharing his thoughts about the special cover and shoot styled by himself, Enninful said: “Of course, the photographer had to be Steven Meisel. When Naomi works with Meisel, she practically becomes a teenager again, shy and focused, and so it proved during our two-day shoot in New York together at the tail end of last year. They know each other so well that they don’t really need words. Dancers came in, Kendrick Sampson (an actor and activist we both admire) played the role of her lover, and even her driver was pulled in to orbit around her. I hope you enjoy the result. It is the story of a real woman – and a genuine icon. “
Speaking of Sampson being an activist, this is his tweet on this Sunday morning, NFL Superbowl Sunday.:

CNN Style wasn’t kidding, when Stephy Chung introduced an in-depth profile of a legendary New York style icon with the words ”Even at 96, Iris Apfel shows little interest in slowing down.”
Known for her bold and eccentric mix of haute couture with flea market finds, Apfel’s notoriety got a major boost in 2005, when her personal clothing collection went on display at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Renamed the Anna Wintour Costume Center in May 2014, the renovated Costume Instutute Space includes the Carl and Iris Barrel Apfel Gallery to orient visitors to The Costume Institute's exhibitions. That, dear friends, is known as making a name for yourself.
A year later, Chung’s description of Iris Apfel was one the money, with the 97-year-old signing with IMG, one of the biggest and most prestigious model and talent agencies in the fashion world. The company will represent Apfel in modeling contracts, as well as appearances and endorsements.
"I’m very excited. I never had a proper agent," Apfel told WWD. "I’m a do-it-yourself girl. I never expected my life would take this turn so I never prepared for it. It all just happened so suddenly, and I thought at my tender age, I’m not going to set up offices and get involved with all kinds of things. I thought it was a flash in the pan, and it’s not going to last. Somehow, people found me. People would just call. Tommy Hilfiger said that was no way to do it, and he put us together. I’m very excited and very grateful."
Apfel hopes that her success will inspire other older women to do the same. "I don’t think a number should make any difference and make you stop working," she said. "I think retirement is a fate worse than death. I love to work, and love my work. I feel sorry for people who don’t like what they do. I do it now to the exclusion of everything else. I meet interesting, creative people, my juices flow and I really have a fine time."

'Paris Good Fashion' Launches 5-Year Plan Making Paris Center Of Sustainable Fashion Industry
The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of the world’s carbon footprint and is considered to be the second biggest polluter of fresh water globally, producting 20% of the world’s industrial wastewater. Forbes adds that the global fashion industry uses 24% of insecticides and 11% of pesticides required to produce crops used in garments.
Until now, London has led the international pace in the fashion sustainability movement. This week, Paris weighed in with a new five-year plan designed to establish French credentials in this critical arena of public policy and environmental action.
Called ‘Paris Good Fashion,’ the project outlines a five-year plan to build an open, collaborative community of fashion professionals, entrepreneurs, designers and experts working together to make Paris a sustainable fashion capital.
Frédéric Hocquard, deputy to Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo, and Antoinette Guhl, deputy in charge of social economy and solidarity, as well as former fashion journalist Isabelle Lefort, promised a more comprehensive project outline at a June 2019 event that will also feature campaigns promoting fashion recycling and conferences surrounding sustainable discussions

Dear Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, AOC loves you but how in the heck can you speak to ‘fearless femininity’, when four of six images in the Spring 2019 BCBGMAXAZRIA Campaign have your eyes closed.
Rosie, get WOKE! LOL. Goddess, give me strngth!
Already WOKE fashion photographer Zoey Grossman was in on this caper with styling by Kate Young. Operating under the name ‘Modern Goddess’, the West Coast can expect Athena to descend from the heavens any minute and kick some serious fashion butt in LA.
This crew IS super-talented, but thankfully they aren’t leading the charge to unseat Donald Trump in 2020, or I would suggest we all just hang it up and move tro Costa Rica, where the quality of life is fabulous, affordable, smart and eco-friendly. A 2020 Trump takedown requires a tribe of truly fierce women, not milktoast. Okay, Anne. You’re being a bit harsh here. At least republish the PR lingo:
“This dynamic collection fuses versatility with a level of sophistication — showcasing classic silhouettes modernized to adhere to the needs of today’s woman – exemplified by campaign star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Strong power-suits, sleek column dresses, loose knits and knife-pleated skirts in muted color tones, ranging from blues to earth tones, with a dash of tropical prints, are the core styles within the collection. The campaign embodied the “Modern Goddess” inspiration through its Grecian theme, amplifying the bold yet functional pieces within the collection.“
“I am very excited to continue my relationship and develop my role as Creative Consultant for the Spring/Summer 2019 Collection with BCBGMAXAZRIA. Working with the creative team to choose the fabrics, artwork, colors and embellishments and then seeing this collection come to life is such an amazing experience.” – Kate Young
“The BCBGMAXAZRIA Spring/Summer 2019 campaign was about relaying the message of fearless femininity that is woven throughout this collection. It was an honor to work alongside two women who I admire, Zoey Grossman and Kate Young. Working with them further amplified the message of this collection of today’s fearless, strong woman.” – Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Just to add texture to my critique, this is my favorite imagery around the Greek goddesses, who represented women in a state of serious decline in 5th century Greece. Rosie looks like she is painfully numb to the reality that in a period of 200 years women’s status devolved from being fully seated to lead Greece in the words of Socrates, to probably not but maybe there is an exception under Plato to no-way, women have 3/5 the intelligence of males under Aristotle. I assure you that the goddesses did not take kindly to the meteroic rise of patriarchy in 5th century Greece.
As you can see, no one is sleeping in this wondrous video about our human capacity when we want to put it to good use! Here we have FIERCE women. Ironically this spectacular cultural event at the Temple of Zeus came four months before Sept. 11, 2001 in New York. Having lived through that event, I assure you that nobody was sleeping there either — but we were fierce women in the aftermath! I went to live at the site. ~ Anne

The daughter of Us frontman Bono and activist mom Ali Hewson, Eve’s Hollywood star is rising. Earlier this summer she headlined the indie film ‘Paper Year’, and now she’s appearing as Maid Marian opposite Welsh actor Taron Egerton in a blockbuster remake of ‘Robin Hood’. “I learned while filming that I’m a good stuntwoman,” she mused in a November 2018 interview with InStyle. “Now I plan to be the next Tom Cruise!”
