Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Slumbers In Zoey Grossman's BCBGMAXAZRIA Spring 2019 Campaign
/Dear Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, AOC loves you but how in the heck can you speak to ‘fearless femininity’, when four of six images in the Spring 2019 BCBGMAXAZRIA Campaign have your eyes closed.
Rosie, get WOKE! LOL. Goddess, give me strngth!
Already WOKE fashion photographer Zoey Grossman was in on this caper with styling by Kate Young. Operating under the name ‘Modern Goddess’, the West Coast can expect Athena to descend from the heavens any minute and kick some serious fashion butt in LA.
This crew IS super-talented, but thankfully they aren’t leading the charge to unseat Donald Trump in 2020, or I would suggest we all just hang it up and move tro Costa Rica, where the quality of life is fabulous, affordable, smart and eco-friendly. A 2020 Trump takedown requires a tribe of truly fierce women, not milktoast. Okay, Anne. You’re being a bit harsh here. At least republish the PR lingo:
“This dynamic collection fuses versatility with a level of sophistication — showcasing classic silhouettes modernized to adhere to the needs of today’s woman – exemplified by campaign star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Strong power-suits, sleek column dresses, loose knits and knife-pleated skirts in muted color tones, ranging from blues to earth tones, with a dash of tropical prints, are the core styles within the collection. The campaign embodied the “Modern Goddess” inspiration through its Grecian theme, amplifying the bold yet functional pieces within the collection.“
“I am very excited to continue my relationship and develop my role as Creative Consultant for the Spring/Summer 2019 Collection with BCBGMAXAZRIA. Working with the creative team to choose the fabrics, artwork, colors and embellishments and then seeing this collection come to life is such an amazing experience.” – Kate Young
“The BCBGMAXAZRIA Spring/Summer 2019 campaign was about relaying the message of fearless femininity that is woven throughout this collection. It was an honor to work alongside two women who I admire, Zoey Grossman and Kate Young. Working with them further amplified the message of this collection of today’s fearless, strong woman.” – Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Just to add texture to my critique, this is my favorite imagery around the Greek goddesses, who represented women in a state of serious decline in 5th century Greece. Rosie looks like she is painfully numb to the reality that in a period of 200 years women’s status devolved from being fully seated to lead Greece in the words of Socrates, to probably not but maybe there is an exception under Plato to no-way, women have 3/5 the intelligence of males under Aristotle. I assure you that the goddesses did not take kindly to the meteroic rise of patriarchy in 5th century Greece.
As you can see, no one is sleeping in this wondrous video about our human capacity when we want to put it to good use! Here we have FIERCE women. Ironically this spectacular cultural event at the Temple of Zeus came four months before Sept. 11, 2001 in New York. Having lived through that event, I assure you that nobody was sleeping there either — but we were fierce women in the aftermath! I went to live at the site. ~ Anne
