Mayowa Nicholas and Saffron Vadher in 'Wildest Dreams' for Vogue US April 2018
/In April 2018, talents-models Cole Sprouse, Mayowa Nicholas, and Saffron Vadher arrived — not in East Africa — but at Mexico’s Cuixmala Resort and Eco Reserve. And yes AOC friends, a herd of zebras was waiting with anticipation, ready to give them a tour of the property and introduce them to Cuixmala’s giraffes and flamingos. See for yourself on Cuixmala’s IG.
Stylist Lucinda Chambers got down to business, choosing ‘safari-inspired’ neutrals from A.W.A.K.E., Bimba Y Lola, Jacquemus, Jil Sander, Leal Daccarett, Lemaire, Loewe, Marc Jacobs, Michael Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, The Row, Tod’s and more for ‘Wildest Dreams’. The fashion story was lensed by deeply-missed photographer Peter Lindbergh for American Vogue. / Hair by Christiaan; makeup by Fulvia Farolfi
The zebras were originally gifted to Sir James Goldsmith, the controversial French-British financier and businessman. The black and white stripes running wild are not native to Mexico but the zebras have flourished in the 25,000-acre reserve’s savanna and coastal plain areas since their introduction. Now numbering over 70, they are tended to by local biologists associated with the Cuixmala Ecological Foundation.
