Eye: Scandebergs Captures 'The Goddard Family' & Edie Campbell For Vogue US March 2018

British designer Molly Goddard (seated) had a small mess on her hands four years ago, with her academic career at Central Saint Martins stalled in a fatal downwards spiral. A devoted boyfriend persuaded her "to take one more stab at it", writes Lynn Yaeger for Vogue US. In a lightening flash, Molly's younger sister Alice was in charge of styling. Her parents were assigned staging, and that included mumSarah Edwards who is a set designer. “Really, we just threw a party—all my girlfriends were there, with my dresses over their jeans,” Molly Goddard says, laughing.

Dover Street Market was in the house that night -- it helps to have influential friends in high places. The result was an order for 86 pieces of Goddard's oversize tulle frocks and being crowned the winner of the 2016 British Emerging Talent Award.

Burberry's Christopher Bailey Cements Support For LGBTQ Rights In Final Show As Creative Director

London delivered its predictable grey drizzle for Burberry's Christopher Bailey's final collection on February 17, 2018, after 17 years with the iconic brand. Vogue's Sarah Mower sat down with Bailey for a poignant talk about his past, present and future. Bailey also spoke with Elizabeth Paton of the NY Times

Bailey dedicated his final collection to LGBTQ rights, ending his Burberry reign under a rainbow coalition of colored lights and a limited-edition rainbow-coated version of the iconic signature Burberry plaid. Three important charities -- The Trevor Project,The Albert Kennedy Trust, and the ILGA -- dedicated to LGBTQ rights worldwide are beneficiaries of the event.

In a statement to WWD, Bailey explained: “My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to — and in support of — some of the best and brightest organizations supporting LGBTQ youth around the world. There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity.”

Boston Globe Writes Fashion Industry Sexual Expose On Patrick Demarchelier, Greg Kadel, David Bellemere, Karl Templer & More Model Aggression

Boston Globe Writes Fashion Industry Sexual Expose On Patrick Demarchelier, Greg Kadel, David Bellemere, Karl Templer & More Model Aggression

In what is becoming a fashion industry #MeToo moment, The Boston Globe released their investigation of sexual assault and misconduct accusations against at least 25 photographers, agents, stylists, and casting directors including Patrick Demarchelier, David Bellemere, Greg Kadel, Seth Sabal, Karl Templer and more.

Models offering testimony include Abbey Lee, RJ King, Myla Dalbesio, Chloe Hayward and more prominent names in the industry.

One of the industry's most prominent voices Coco Rocha told the Globe's Spotlight team that when she refused to get naked on the set at age 16, the photographer replaced her with a girl younger and more obedient. Months later, another famous photographer simulated an orgasm as he took her picture.

On her first test shoot at age 15, Dasha Alexander said the photographer held the camera in one hand and digitally penetrated her with his other. The move would make the pictures more "raw" and "sensual". I find this move laughable because a woman's sensuality is much more innate. If anything, the photographer would inspire raw fear -- unless the model was in full agreement with the gesture. If the photographer didn't ask her in advance about this digital penetration, he is guilty of sexual assault.

Fearless Girl Will Get A Permanent Home In New York, Taking Charging Bull With Her

Fearless Girl Will Get A Permanent Home In New York, Taking Charging Bull With Her

Great News! Fearless Girl is staying in Manhattan permanently, probably inseparable from her nemesis statue, Charging Bull. In the wake of the #MeToo movement, the duo seem even more joined at the hip. Such a decision will surely prompt wine-vinegar words from Charging Bull's, men are the masters of the universe, artist Arturo Di Modica.

Because Fearless Girl has brought so many tourists and visitors to her small location in Wall Street, officials have traffic and safety concerns around her permanent residence. Negotiations are underway between the Mayor's Office and State Street Global Advisors, who birthed Fearless Girl in time for International Women's Day 2017, regarding her long-term future plans .

“The message of the Fearless Girl statue has resonated with New Yorkers and visitors alike,” a spokesperson for Mayor Bill de Blasio told Adweek. “Its enthusiastic reception has been heartening, and we are discussing various approaches to ensure this statue continues to be a part of the city’s civic life.”

Millions of tourists and natives have indeed flocked to see the statue since its March 7, 2017, debut, and other cities want to clone her -- sort of pink pussyhat sorority sisters.

Penélope Cruz Rewrites Fairy Tales, Lensed By Cedric Buchet For Porter Edit February 16, 2018

Penélope Cruz Rewrites Fairy Tales, Lensed By Cedric Buchet For Porter Edit February 16, 2018

Actor and activist Penélope Cruz talks to Mark Smith about her process of becoming Donatella Versace for her US TV debut as the sister of murdered designer Gianni Versace. Cruz is happy to be back in Madrid, after living in London last winter during the filming of Kenneth Branagh's 'Murder on the Orient Express'. Cruz says she's constitutionally unsuited to gray days and an early nightfall, as it affects her brain.

Cruz became the first spanish woman to win an Academy Award, for her 2008 role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, a film written and directed by Woody Allen and produced by Harvey Weinstein.  We'll talk Cruz's Hollywood women experience in another post, but must share Penelope's resourceful way of dealing with gender roles between her own daughter and son.

“Fairy tales matter so much because these are the first stories that you hear from the mouths of your parents,” she says. “So, when I read fairy tales to my kids at night, I’m always changing the endings – always, always, always, always. F*****g Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty and all of this – there’s a lot of machismo in those stories. That can have an effect on the way that kids see the world. If you’re not careful, they start thinking: ‘Oh, so the men get to decide everything.’”

Cruz’s subversive fairy-tale heroines, she says, are prone to declining proposals of marriage, or making the proposals themselves. An example? “In my version of Cinderella, when the prince says, ‘Do you wanna marry?’ she says, ‘No, thanks, ’cos I don’t want to be a princess. I want to be an astronaut, or a chef.’” Cruz laughs wickedly and closes an imaginary book.

Ronan Farrow Details Trump's Affair With Karen McDougal, As Story Daniels Says She Has A Monica Lewinsky Dress

Ronan Farrow Details Trump's Affair With Karen McDougal, As Story Daniels Says She Has A Monica Lewinsky Dress

Melania Trump must be out of her mind. Here is another major expose about her philandering, immoral, Putin-lover husband, a man who is unfortunately our president. The golden showers in Russia are looking more believable every day. Any woman who married Trump with his reputation and marital history deserves what she gets -- which is a whole lotta money in this case. I can't image this marriage will be saved, as Trump has made Melania Trump one of the most publicly humiliated women ever in history.

Ronan Farrow, who also broke The New Yorker story on Harvey Weinstein is the pen behind 'Donald Trump, A Playboy Model and A System For Concealing Infidelity'. The players include Trump loyalist David Pecker, the chairman of American Media, Inc., the publisher of the National Enquirer; Karen McDougal, a former Playmate of the Year; Donald Trump; and Dylan Howard, A.M.I.’s chief content officer.

Do not confuse Karen McDougal with Stormy Daniels. They are separate women who apparently had affairs with Trump simultaneously -- or close to it. All we know for sure is that Melania had given birth to Trump's son Barron in the recent past.

Helena Christensen, Christy Turlington & Danai Gurira At Ali Hewson's Edun Fall 2018 Presentation

Helena Christensen, Christy Turlington & Danai Gurira At Ali Hewson's Edun Fall 2018 Presentation

Vogue reviews Edun's Fall 2018 presentation, writing that in Nairobi, Kenya, "you're only as awesome as your boda boda." The wilder and crazier your motorcycle taxi wheels, the more stylish you are in Nairobi. The inspired embellishment of boda bodas worked its way into Edun's Fall 2018 collection, which got a big boost from two of the industry's greats: Helena Christensen and Christy Turlington.

Black Panther star Danai Gurira showed off bold, exuberant colors against the backdrop of a pastel pink boda boda.

In 2009 LVMH took a stake in Edun, founded by Ali Hewson and her husband Bono in 2005. Helena Christensen is bff with Hewson and an integral member of the Edun spiritual/artisan-inspired design mindset. Helena and Ali first met in 1993 when the Danish beauty first modeled in Hewson's show for the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children at the Point in Dublin.

Now a professional photographer, Helena frequently turns her lens to Bono's U2 band and to her role working as an ambassador with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Christy Turlington and husband Ed Burns frequently join the party, as do Trudie Styler and Sting. The Edun lookbook images were shot in New Orleans, presumably by Christensen.

Christy Turlington Fronts H&M Conscious 2018 Campaign, Inspired By Karin Larsson

Supermodel Christy Turlington fronts H&M's Conscious 2018 campaign, joined by Giedre Dukauskaite and Aamito Lagum. The sustainable collection features items made of  TENCEL™, recycled polyester and organic linen. H&M also introduces ECONYL® -- a 100 percent regenerated nylon fiber made of recycled fishnets and nylon waste -- as well as recycled silver used in a fine jewelry collection. Photographer Mikael Jansson captures the Conscious Exclusive collection, inspired by the artful home, and the work and lifestyle of Carl and Karin Larsson.

Vogue writes that Carl and Karin Larsson met in Paris in the 1880s, where they both were studying painting. As expected of women, Karin have up her painting to raise their family of eight children. But she also found new ways to channel her creativity into interior design, weaving, embroidery and other 'wifey' creative pursuits.

Released once a year, the aim of the Conscious Exclusive collection, explained Anna Gedda, the company’s queen of green, is twofold: “Making fashion sustainable, but [also] to make sustainability fashionable.”

Trump's Personal Lawyer Confirms $130,000 Payment To Porn Star Stormy Daniels

Trump's Personal Lawyer Confirms $130,000 Payment To Porn Star Stormy Daniels

“Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly,” Mr. Cohen said in a statement to The New York Times. “The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone.”

Cohen's statement about this "private transaction" was the first time Cohen acknowledged his role in the payment, first reported in January 2018 by The Wall Street Journal. It was made shortly after the birth of Trump's son Barron with current wife Melania.

Note that Cohen's office is right next to Donald Trump's in Trump Tower. I wonder if those die-hard evangelicals who just trashed Bill Clinton -- and Hillary, too -- will ever look in the mirror and seen their own hypocrisy.

No. Because they've convinced themselves that Trump has been sent by God and can do no wrong. Talk about a tight religious knot.

'Seeing Allred' Documentary Shows Feminist Lawyer Gloria Allred Even More Fierce Than You Knew Her

'Seeing Allred' Documentary Shows Feminist Lawyer Gloria Allred Even More Fierce Than You Knew Her

Gloria Allred must be the second most-hated woman in America among right-wingers. No, maybe third. First Hillary Clinton, then Nancy Pelosi, then famed feminist attorney Gloria Allred. Indeed the Netflix documentary that premiered at Sundance was a detailed trip into America's second wave of feminism. But directors Roberta Grossman and Sophie Sartain did a first rate job of bringing Allred to life as a living, breathing woman -- although not one very different from the tough cookie we see in press conferences about an accuser of Donald Trump, Roy Moore, Bill Cosby and more.

The film does an excellent job of telling Allred's story as a young Philadelphia mother and teacher. We think of Allred as a prominent feminist but her activists roots sprouted in Watts, when she moved to LA at age 25 with her 5-year-old daughter Lisa Bloom and took a job teaching here.

Jennie Willoughby, Rob Porter's Ex-Wife, Talks Trump's Dismissal Of Her Abuse & Rejection Of #MeToo

JENNIE WILLOUGHBY PENS TIME ESSAY ADDRESSING TRUMP CALLING HER AND PORTER'S OTHER ACCUSERS LIARS, AND AMERICA'S REFUSAL TO CONFRONT REALITY OF ABUSE.

Jennie Willoughby, Rob Porter's Ex-Wife, Talks Trump's Dismissal Of Her Abuse & Rejection Of #MeToo

Trump essentially called the three-women 'liars' who have accused former White House staff secretary Rob Porter of physical and emotional abuse. The trio includes two ex-wives and the woman Porter was dating when he got cozy with White House Communications Director Hope Hicks in November. By then, the White House was fully appraised that Porter was having difficulty getting a top-level security clearance -- considered a problem so serious that Porter should have been sent packing months ago.

American women -- and many men -- are speechless that Trump has not said one word in support of women who are abused, a reality that is a serious problem in America and worldwide. Specifically, his tweets have only spoken of harm done to men by false accusations from women, as Trump inquired if there was no due process anymore.

Salma Hayek Honors Jill Messick, Dead By Suicide In Rose McGowan-Harvey Weinstein Battle

Salma Hayek Honors Jill Messick, Dead By Suicide In Rose McGowan-Harvey Weinstein Battle

Actor Salma Hayek honored her friend, the late producer and studio executive Jill Messick, who died by suicide on Wednesday at age 50.  Messick's name has been in the news recently, because she represented McGowan in 1997, the time period during which McGowan was allegedly raped by Harvey Weinstein.

According to her family in a statement published in The Hollywood Reporter, Messick has endured a longtime battle with depression and bipolar disorder and a particularly bad manic episode five years ago. Her personal trauma was recently triggered again by gossip and inferences about her role -- if any -- in McGowan's alleged rape by Harvey Weinstein. Messick was the executive producer of 'Frida', working closely with Hayek, who has written her own story about how an angry Weinstein tried to destroy the movie.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of Jill Messick,” Hayek said of Messick, who was an executive producer on Hayek’s 2002 Miramax film, “Frida.” “She always navigated the frustrating and hostile environment of Miramax with grace and elegance. She became my ally and my friend. In the many years we worked together I witnessed her professionalism while being pregnant, a mother and through incredible pressure. She was a girl’s girl and a romantic when it came to fighting for the underdog. I will forever be grateful for her support and kindness.”

Religious Groups Tried To Block Rihanna's Senegal GPE Global Education Conference Visit

Religious Groups Tried To Block Rihanna's Senegal GPE Global Education Conference Visit

When 10 current and three former heads of state and more than 100 ministers gathered at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Financing Conference in Dakar, Senegal, the conference marked the first time an education financing conference has been hosted by a developing country.

President Macky Sall of the Republic of Senegal and President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic welcomed the more than 1200 participants including leaders from UNESCO, UNICEF, the World Bank, civil society, philanthropic foundations and the private sector. Rihanna, GPE’s Global Ambassador supported by Global Citizen, also participated.

Thankfully, Senegal's President Sall didn't bow to the generally unreported but very real protests in Senegal, demanding that Rihanna be banned from the event because of her involvement with the 'Illuminati'.

Snopes writes that activist celebrities like Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Madonna and Katy Perry are common targets of Trump's friends -- the conspiracy theorists -- who argue that these pop culture leaders are either Satanists or part of the Illuminati. This top conspiracy theory about the Illuminati posits that ultra-wealthy celebrities, bankers, billionaires and politicians are all globalists who secretly rule the world, putting their party above countries or religion.

Hillary Clinton is considered to be among the most dangerous of the Illuminati, as Alexandra Petri wrote for The Washington Post in October 2016, three weeks before the election in: "The hideous, diabolical truth about Hillary Clinton".

The Illuminati is believed to include many Freemasons. Although the two groups are believed to share many members and common values, they are historically separate.

Eye | Kate Upton Details Specific Allegations Against Guess Co-Founder Paul Marciano

Eye | Kate Upton Details Specific Allegations Against Guess Co-Founder Paul Marciano

On Jan. 31, top model and talent Kate Upton wrote a Tweet that sent the value of GUESS stock into a nosedive. Upton wrote:  “It’s disappointing that such an iconic women’s brand @Guess is still empowering Paul Marciano as their creative director #metoo.” At the time, Kate said  nothing further about the details of her allegations against Marciano.

Kate Upton has now detailed her allegations against Marciano, while addressing the larger issues around body shaming and harassment in the fashion industry, in an interview with TIME magazine. Photographer Yu Tsai has corroborated details of Upton's allegations, as a witness of her interaction with Marciano.

TIME: What happened with Paul Marciano?

Kate Upton: "After the first day of shooting the Guess Lingerie campaign [on July 25, 2010], Paul Marciano said he wanted to meet with me. As soon as I walked in with photographer Yu Tsai, Paul came straight up to me, forcibly grabbed my breasts and started feeling them — playing with them actually. After I pushed him away, he said, “I’m making sure they’re real.”

White House Staff Secy Rob Porter Resigns After Explosive Reports On Marital Abuse With Both Ex-Wives

White House Staff Secy Rob Porter Resigns After Explosive Reports On Marital Abuse With Both Ex-Wives

Trump's White House Communications Director Hope Hicks is said to be dating White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter, 40. This snap taken 10 days ago was featured in The Daily Mail's explosive report on Porter's two past marriages and claims by both wives of physical and emotional abuse. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced this afternoon that Porter will be stepping down.

Porter's first wife, Colbie Holderness, told the DM that Porter punched her in the face during a trip to Florence in the early 2000s, and she provided photos of her black eye.

Rob Porter, served as the staff secretary and often controlled the paper flow to President Trump’s desk, along with his daily schedule. Porter also oversaw the White House’s policy implementation process and worked closely with Chief of Staff John F. Kelly to try to instill discipline in the chaotic West Wing. He spent hours of the day with Trump and frequently traveled with him on Air Force One.

Porter’s second ex-wife, Jennifer Willoughby, received a temporary emergency protective order in June 2010 after complaining he refused to leave her residence, in violation of their separation agreement.

Model Alliance Moves to End Backstage Harassment At NYFW, Now Offers Private Changing Spaces

As New York Fashion Week moves into full swing, Model Alliance cofounder and executive director Sara Ziff talks with Vogue about the impact of the #MeToo moment on the industry. “Models have been dealing with these issues for decades, and this behavior has been an open secret, and now we finally have permission not only to talk about it but to act,” shared Ziff on the phone from the Model Alliance’s New York office. “I think a lot of people in our business want to do the right thing, but they haven’t had adequate support; we need to create the infrastructure and enact change so that there is accountability across the board.”

One of the first changes involves private dressing rooms for models backstage during the shows. Announced yesterday, the collaboration between the Model Alliance and Council of Fashion Designers of America adds a new layer of privacy behind the scenes. Previously, models changed backstage, often in view of photographers.

Goddess Hathor's Fifth Dynasty Priestess Hetpet's Tomb Unveiled A Century After Discovery In Egypt

Goddess Hathor's Fifth Dynasty Priestess Hetpet's Tomb Unveiled A Century After Discovery In Egypt

Archaeologists working in Egypt have discovered a 4,400-year-old tomb close to Cairo, one that contains rare wall paintings and is thought to be the tomb of a priestess named Hetpet. Mostafa Waziri, the secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, announced the discovery located near the Giza pyramids.

“The tomb is in very good condition,” Dr. Waziri said. “There are colored depictions of traditional scenes: animals grazing, fishing, bird-catching, offerings, sacrifice, soldiers and fruit-gathering.”

Hetpet is believed to have been close to Egyptian royals of the Fifth Dynasty, part of a prosperous period in Egyptian history known as the Old Kingdom during which the pyramids, temples and palaces were built under the rule of pharaohs. Hetpet served as a priestess for Hathor, a goddess depicted as a cow and associated with fertility, motherhood and love. By this time in women's history, female priests were not that common in ancient Egypt, but Hathor's priesthood was an exception.

Hetpet's name was first seen on antiquities uncovered at the site in 1909 by a British explorer who sent them to Berlin and Frankfurt.  The tomb itself was not unearthed until more than a century later in 2017

Michael Wolff And The Age-Old 'She's A Slut' Shaming Of Nikki Haley's Meteoric Rise

Michael Wolff And The Age-Old 'She's A Slut' Shaming Of Nikki Haley's Meteoric Rise

'Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski shut down an interview with 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House' author Michael Wolff on Thursday over her claim that Wolff insinuated strongly that he had accused U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley of having an affair with President Donald Trump.

The conversation initially focused on the Russian investigation but then turned to remarks Wolff made last week on HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher.”  Wolff claimed to know that Trump was having an affair and pointed viewers to a passage located near "the end of the book" where her name would be found.

Readers zoomed in on a passage in which Wolff wrote that Haley “had become a particular focus of Trump’s attention, and he of hers” and another in which he wrote “that [Haley], with requisite submission, could be his heir apparent.”  Egging them on, Wolff continued: “Now that I've told you, when you hit that paragraph, you're gonna say, 'Bingo.'”

Eye | Kate Upton Joins the #MeToo Convo, Accusing Guess Founder Paul Marciano Of Sexual Harassment

Former GUESS model Kate Upton added her voice to the #MeToo convo Thursday morning, using social media to speak out against Paul Marciano, co-founder of the company.

Upton doesn't say if she is among the harassed women, but the inference is clear, with Upton saying that Marciano  "shouldn't be allowed to use his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass women."

Her post brought responses from others about Marciano's alleged misconduct.
