Harvey Weinstein Arrested On Friday Morning & Now Under Arraignment In Manhattan

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein is pictured by New York Magazine, arriving at a lower Manhattan police station early Friday, turning himself in to face a series of charges related to his aggressive sexual tactics with women.

Weinstein was immediately arrested, the NYPD confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter and then charged with rape, a criminal sex act, sex abuse, sex abuse and sexual misconduct for his behavior with two women. Arraignment will happen later today. 

A statement released by the NYPD thanked "these brave survivors for their courage to come forward and seek justice".

Model Teddy Quinlivan took a strong stand for her colleagues last week, penning a powerful open letter on Instagram. Teddy spoke generally about the issue of sexual harassment in the fashion industry, while disclosing her own direct experiences with wandering fingers in her panties and more. 

After probing the reality that victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault are generally ignored because of the power that the perpetrator photographer or stylist wields, Teddy Quinlivan announced, “I refuse to work with brands and publications who continue to collaborate with accused offenders of assault,” adding, “There is no fashion show, editorial, campaign, or event that is more important than the safety and well being of both myself and remarkable men and women I work with.”

Moral Crusader Roy Moore Sues Four Alabama Sexual Harassment & Teen Assault Accusers For Defamation

Former Alabama  Senate candidate Roy Moore, a man with notoriety on multiple fronts including wanting to govern America as a theocracy, filed a lawsuit on Monday in the Circuit Court of Etowah County, Ala. where he lives with his wife Kayla, writes The New York Times. 

Defendants in the suit are Leigh Corfman, Debbie Gibson, Tina Johnson and Beverly Nelson, charged with defaming and conspiring against Moore and his wife Kayla, and of committing libel and slander “by making statements which were false, malicious, and made with intentional or reckless disregard of the truth and with the intent that those statements be published to others, including through state and national media.”

“Those statements caused harm to the reputation and character of Judge Moore and also to his wife Kayla, lowered their standing in the community and discouraged members of the community from associating with them,” the lawsuit said.

Naomie Harris appeared in the Academy Award-winning Best Picture, 'Moonlight', where she was nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA Award for her tour de force performance as the protagonist's mother, Paula.

Harris will appear next in director Andy Serkis’ feature adventure, “Mowgli,” as a member of a stellar cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett. The film is scheduled for release later this years.

On the subject of #MeToo in Hollywood, Naomie Harris says that it really wasn't a problem for her, admitting that she was 'protected' from sexual harassment by her managers -- protection not afforded to so many other Hollywood women by their own managers. 

Harris candidly offers a simple example of how that works: 'When everything [about Harvey Weinstein] was blowing up, my manager did remind me about a person who asked me, post-screening, to go up to his room and have a drink.

But because my manager is amazing, she immediately stepped in and said, 'That's not happening under any circumstances'. It was four or five years ago."  Because she's been surrounded by primarily women on her team, Harris believes she's escaped much of the intimidation, misery or just plain good-fun, male pussy-grabbing so many other women actors have experienced.

Harris also takes up the topic of cultural appropriation, one that will surely bring a hailstorm of Twitter hate onto her shoulders. "'I think it’s a compliment to adopt other cultures and races’ ideas of what makes them look beautiful.'

Military Nude Women Pics Scandal Expands With Calls For Marines To 'Share the Wealth'

'Fearless Girl' isn't the only one being metaphorically f#cked this week. The scandal and investigation into hundreds of Marines accused of sharing naked photographs of their female colleagues in a private Facebook group has widened. 

Hundreds of nude photos of female service members from every military branch have been posted to an image-sharing message board -- Anon IB -- that dates back to at least May. In dozens of threaded conversations among men, many of them ask for 'wins' -- naked photographs -- of individual female service members, often calling out the women's names or where they are stationed. 

This new allegation comes in the aftermath of a week-old explosive Facebook story published by Marine veteran Thomas Brennan, calling out a Facebook group called Marines United, home to about 30,000 members who were also sharing nude photos of women Marines and other female service members along with their personal information. Sometimes the comments included encouragement of sexual assault.

Lillian McEwen didn’t decide to write a book about her relationship with Justice Clarence Thomas because Virginia Thomas left a phone message on Anita Hill’s voice mail, asking her to consider apologizing to Thomas for her sexual harassment allegations against him during his confirmation hearings.

Lillian McEwen, the girlfriend and confidante to Justice Thomas, has been writing her memoirs. It does seem that the Virginia Thomas phone call to Anita Hill struck a sour note, given McEwen’s own experiences with Clarence Thomas, which she has now detailed in the Washington Post.

Her words are a bombshell and basically support Anita Hill’s claims and those of several other women, whose complaints about Thomas were passed off by the Judiciary committee. Lillian McEwen was not asked to testify in the hearings, which were confined to the candidate’s professional, not personal, relationships with women.
