Feeling the Love for Moomins with Suvi Koponen in Vogue Scandinavia

Top model Suvi Riggs Koponen is more often found in Sherman Oaks, California in the San Fernando Valley than in Finland. Not today.

The mother of three daughters with husband, filmmaker Tyler Riggs shot the cover story of Vogue Scandinavia’s [IG] October-November 2025 issue in ‘Moominworld’, a special place from Suvi’s childhood.

Jesee Laitinen [IG] photographs Suvi in Tove Jansson’s special world of Nordic nostalgia, including a reading of from Jansson's 1970 book Muumilaakson marraskuu ('Moominvalley in November'). Styling is by Sanna Silander./ Hair by Linda Lehto; makeup by Ninni Nummela

Swedish-speaking Jansson brought to light values like inclusion, acceptance, and community that are important pillars of modern Nordic societies. Bravo but too woke. If Trump tries to shut down ‘Sesame Street’, perhaps the Moomins can take in Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Elmo and the Cookie Monster until Trump’s hateful war on Democratic American cities is over.

We can pay you guys for your generosity towards our refugees. Put me down for $20/mo every month until the whole ‘Sesame Street’ crew can come home to America. No, the money won’t come out of the hides of educating girls in Malawi.
